Have you got to the missions set in the housing projects yet :dread:

Hilariously bad. I remember running away to escape after grabbing the info I needed and hearing one of the gang members call out after me "Damn, he's fast for a white boy."

Do they still put that ridiculous message at the start of the game about how Ubisoft is made up of people from all the colours of the rainbow?

Played this for a couple of hours yesterday and had a lot of fun with it, it really has had some harsh criticism but can't say it's totally undeserved going by Ubisoft's 'definitive' next-gen claims and all of the hype and review embargo. What the strawberry float do they care though, it's sold a ton.

Certain mechanics I find quite cool like by-standers calling the police when you've committed a crime, it adds a nice mechanic to your getaways. Evading police through alleys and hiding in your seat works surprisingly well also, the first mission you do it felt like I was playing a video game version of the Drive intro - I hope there's more of that to come.

Has anyone else had issue with voices not playing on the PC version? I had to strawberry float around for half an hour yesterday to finally get it back - seems like a fairly widespread problem. I had to install a different DirectX runtime which got it back.

Ve vill take back ze means of production!!!11

Well it's safe to say that I'm loving this which I don't really expect at all.

I didn't find the driving a hassle. It's hardly perfect while compared to GTA but it's still acceptable. Meaning I didn't get frustrated at all.

The crime detection system does recycle scenarios at all and there is a small loss if you fail to prevent the crime from happening and you still "complete" it no matter as long you don't get detected. The problem once you get seen, you can just hide behind a fence and the criminal will carry on regardless of previous suspection.

The gang hideouts echoes slighty of Batman Arkham series' predator challenges and it suits my stealth approach to the entire game.

Really the amount of side quests in this is quite insane and I shake my fist at Sucker Punch for not doing the same for Second Son.

I have still only done two of the main campaign as I kept get distracted by the side quests.

Easily a solid 7 game.

I'm not sure how more I'll carry on with this (relatively early in Act 3).

I think I've seen it all. Every mission or side quests are a rather simple combination of the same basic actions - scan, follow lines, find camera, explore to find another camera/line/box repeat...(although the combat/base take outs are still fun)

A couple of bits in missions have been a little different (escourts, defending a building, mining a meeting) but mostly it's still the same - and chases, while fun, rapidly become "same" each time (not helped by the camera cutting away to show you the same events in slow motion).

The feeling of "Assassin Creed 1" is really starting to creep in, and it's feeling like a game which needed a much stronger "editor/director/producer" (sorry might be getting the term wrong)./

It's not necessarily help by the fact the story hasn't grabbed me - it's not bad, and when I'm playing it I enjoy the characters (normally) - but it's just not engaged. I'm not looking forward to playing it (simply rather "oh free time, time to play a game of something"), and it's in no danger of being hard to turn off at the end of the evening.

If the end were in sight I might feel different, but the plot is (broad spoilers)

I'm doing some stuff for a guy, so he'll unlock some stuff for another bloke.

Neither the bloke nor myself know what's on the stuff we're unlocking, or why it's so important, or even who gave it to the gangmember we took it off...it'll help us get to someone who put hits out on us for some reason do with some other info we glanced at while doing something at a place...

I'm not bothered by this but the bloke who does want the info took my sister since I wouldn't help when asked, even though vengeance for my family seems to be a driving factor when needed...

Odd comparison the game it most reminds me of is Darksiders 2

Quest Giver 1: "Find me 3 shiny things!"

NPC 1: "I have a shiny thing, but before I give it to you, you must fetch me 3 shrubberies!"

Helpful signpost "Shrubbery ahead, need 3 keys to open door".

It's just relentless in keeping thing things artificially extended before resolution (normally by more wire following, or chases to the next steam vent)

The scene with Damien in the house:

I don't know why the hell he didn't just beat the hell out of Damien, take any sort of communication devices he had, drag him into the basement and call that despicable mofo Jordi Chin to go all GTAV Trevor on him.

Act II has the most mission. I've been stuck on Act II for for what seems ages now

I hardly use my weapons at all, just the parts where the game forces me too. Stealth, takedown, mission complete. That, and the tough car chases, are the best parts of the game.

Although it is a relatively simple game I'm playing this more like Metal Gear Solid.

So im finally at a PC. I love this game, I tend to walk about in GTA games just taking it all in and this is the best at it, certainly the City and Nighttime are 2 of its biggest draws, 2 things that I dont like at all in GTA games funnily enough.

I like the car handling, its arcadey, the shooting is punchy and fun, the carnage and vehicle damage is brilliantly done, it has a few issues (the radio in cars is awful) and a few animation hiccups but on the whole this is the one of the best GTA-TYPE games I've played. For a new entry im dying to see Watch Dogs 2.

Looks GORGEOUS in the rain at night. :datass:

I'm actually looking forward to see if they can take this and improve it further for the inevitable sequel, and hope it isn't a copy and paste job.

At last, I have been playing this over the weekend and I think it's simply brilliant, but is it a perfect game so far? No, I don't think so and I could see there is a lot of potential to improve for the sequel if it happens. It's clearly that they used the concept from Assassin's Creed (Map, layout and etc) and Splinter Cell (Stealth, covers to hide and moves) to make this game together.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's very impressive from Ubisoft to create a game like this for their very first time and if they improve a lot for the sequel. Rockstar may have another competition unless they have something in their sleeves for GTA6.

The visual is very impressive and the night-time is clearly the best looking, but I personally think to turn down the brightness to zero make the day-time look a bit better than the default setting. It gives more realistic look and more shadows too. Mind, it's just my opinion!

I'm only on Act I 4/9 as I keep playing the side missions and explore the map to see what's there that I could do. It's very distracting at the moment to be honest!

Oh, I forgot to add for the online feature and I think it is a fantastic idea to have it. It's very thrilling to hack somebody while the person is trying to find me and it's exciting.

Picked it up on PS3 for £35 in Asda. Not played a great deal just getting to grips with the basics, but it's surprisingly entertaining given that I was convinced Watchdogs would turn out to be a prize turkey.

The PS3 version looks and runs a lot smoother than many of the vids and screenshots kicking about the web have suggested. Fair play to Ubisoft who have managed to squeeze a surprising amount out of the PS3.

In that case, I advise you to do what I did with Assassins Creed 1: Play it in shorter sessions. Don't keep playing it until you're utterly sick to the back teeth of it. Stop as soon as you start to feel even the slightest bit bored.

Has anyone worked out what the Reputation bar actually does?

If you go negative people will see you on tv and call the police, if it's positive they don't give a gooseberry fool.
Pretty sure max positive means you can steal a car and the owner isn't inclined to call the cops

Basically positive rep makes the free roaming devoid of any threat

Jesus Christ. Did anyone play test this.

There's some genuiely fun mission towards the end of Act 3 - which mix up stealth/action/planning really well, I was really enjoying it. (Although there's terrible music tracks throughout)

Then I got to what I assume is the Act 3 boss....About a minute of dialogue than mobs spawn around you....kill them and you get another 30-45 seconds of dialogue then a second wave....

But if you die, they set the checkpoint as before the first set of dialogue...so everytime you have to rehear it.

I wasn't at all impressed with GTA5's radio stations but Watch Dogs has to offer the worst selection of in-game music I've ever come across in a sandbox game. I can't turn off the radio quick enough.

You know you can go in the options so the Radio doesn't automatically turn on?

You can collect more songs too. It's not the best soundtrack, but I've certainly heard worse and I've played most games of this type.
