I really miss the days of ridiculous discounts in Steam sales.

Those days gave birth to some great Gabe memes. The golden era.

The XCOM Ultimate Bundle is <£15 which is a pretty heft discount. XCOM2 has been on my wishlist for a good seven years at this point, but I'm scarred by the number of >90% misses in XCOM. It's like an anti-Fire Emblem 7.

I'm going to have another playthrough of it at some point as after nearly 500 hours I still haven't actually finished it.

That seems to be some really good updates to family sharing.

Yeah, multiple people being able to use the same library at the same time is a pretty significant improvement.

There are rumours that Microsoft may be making the next xbox a platform for others to build on and make versions of so will use more PC like hardware.

What hardware is affordable by next Christmas for a machine I'd assume will be around the £500 range?

Will we see multiple tiers so maybe a cheap, medium and expensive version or would that just confuse everyone?
I'd love a new Neo Geo (I wasn't blessed with one of these dream machines) style hyper console but would anyone but me bother buying it?

Are PC gamers even interested in a console/pc hybrid?

Because that worked so well for the 3DO!

They sold literally hundreds of those so I'm calling that a huge win overall.

So MS does Steam Deck basically, which is far more likely.

Given that an Xbox/PC hybrid would almost certainly be just a pre-specced PC with the Xbox OS bolted on top I could live with that. Especially if you still had desktop access and could add non-xbox games.

A system that could access the libraries of multiple stores natively and present them all in a nice controller friendly manner is the dream for me. Steam Deck has come closest but its not quite there. Still a bit too hacky for primetime.

I do think MS are heading in a similar direction.

That's what the rumours seem to be saying but I could be completely wrong.
If you can get an xbox branded machine that can also download and play steam games that would be pretty great.

How that would work in reality I have no idea and if it would mean some kind of monster payment from Microsoft to steam or something like that.
