Ferry trips are less enjoyable whilst reading the news about the South Korean ship on BBC news on my phone...

Oh God, so much this. Just finished episode 9 of the first series with the GF and we're both waiting for it to, y'know, actually make us want to watch it. To me, it's like people who watch it are like "oh okay, yeah this is alright, not much really happening at the m... OH WOW NAKED LADY THIS IS AWESOME."

I thought the same thing after watching season 1. However now like the rest of the interwebs I love it. I am not too sure what happened, I think season 2 gives you more character development, so you then find a re-watch of season 1 more enjoyable.

That's what I wanted to hear. So far, I'm trying to get into it but every time I finish an episode I don't feel like watching another. Might start reading the books. Is it worth reading them before watching each series (or the whole lot), after or not at all?

I prefer the books to the show. Plus reading the books will give you a better appreciation of the characters.

Mori, I watched the first episode of Hannibal last night. I'm not sure I'd describe it as hilarious like you did, but it was very good. I'll certainly be watching more.

Each week it gets more hilarious, because of how ridiculous the crimes are. Also you have Hannibal being awesome.

I'm now imagining the show slowly turning into Psychoville.

The humour comes from Hannibal's trolling of the entire cast basically just for his own amusement. He's a terrible doctor.

The pilot not so much no but it builds up as Hannibal features more and more. 1x07 is the funniest episode of season 1 and IIRC the most Hannibalcentric.

Reading up on the South Korean ferry sinking is heartbreaking. 350 students were on board and the principle of the school has commited suicide, probably feeling it's all his fault. A captain who made no attempt to save anyone and (much like in Greece told all the passangers to stay in their cabins) got off fine and there's still hundreds of people trapped in the ship.

Divers have found many bodies already and although there is a small, albeit very small chance of people still being alive, it's not loooking likely. Just horrible.

Why doesn't SK have a fleet of super advanced ferries? I mean, look at them, they're the technological powerhouse of the world.

None of that would stop a North Korean torpedo attack.

I think you just have retards in charge of boats. I doubt you need many qualifications.

Was in a McDonalds earlier and someone behind me said "Wankers wear sunglasses indoors". So I turned around, put my sunglasses on and said "Deal with it". He looked at me like I was a banana split. Success. 8-)

Talking of McDonald's, while all the free food is nice, I would like to win something worthwhile in this Monopoly thing...

There's only so much porridge and hash browns a person can eat you know.

Had a Maccies a few weeks ago, about 2am. Just as they where shutting up shop, Only wanted 2 drinks, anyway, I got them for free because they couldn't be bothered running it through the tills and ruining everything She probably wanted some sweet lovin' too but anyway, I won a large big mac meal and a coffee.

Free stuff is the best 8-)

Just had a lychee for the first time ever. Quite nice, not sold on the texture though.
