Yes I was thinking exactly the same thing. He's loaded with energy and will scrutinize and try to demolish every single thing you say. I can see his ability to blow everything out of proportion and exaggerate come in handy in court.

I tried to bite my tongue the first time around as I'm not here to join a mob beating but, if anything, her reappearance and attitude rankles more now. Rab's insinuation seemed to be somewhat clairvoyant, I think he stumbled across something far bigger than he'd even considered or alluded to. A happy coincidence, it seems. Lauren had no grounds to ask for any of the original article to be changed but, in her head, she appeared to believe she had every right. That sets alarm bells ringing - is that a common personality trait or was it a knee-jerk reaction by someone that's just discovered libel law and fancies being a smart arse?

I find it strange that before e-mailing anyone she didn't run the loop around any awkward coincidences or dealings that might offer a comeback to her complaints. If she wanted to clear her name, foregoing an open discussion with the writer of the article in favour of ridged censorship seems mightily silly. I was hoping she'd say Rab had done nothing wrong and that he was, actually, right. It turned out she was involved in some uncomfortable practices and then proceeded to go about making her point in an icky, arrogant, condescending and ultimately enraging sort of fashion. She didn't stand up to criticism or address the issue, she nuked it from orbit with a legal threat. A legal threat she denies she made despite gloating about how she understood libel law (she actually didn't) and had decided to use that training as a deterrent to fair comment.

How can someone feel the full force of a backlash like that and still believe they were in the right? When she says "my bad" she doesn't elaborate on what she did wrong or how she sees things differently now. It just feels disingenuous. There were some decent posts made on GAF and she was dismissive. Maybe she's reading this, maybe not, but cutting through everyone's bitterness or bile, what comes across more than anything is an unwillingness to take responsibility.

Silva's also right in that people are using the silly, trolling extremist views as if they are genuine contributions, not mindless profanity that should be shuttered out like the wailings of the deranged. Be honest. No-one genuinely threatened her life or safety. By playing along with this charade you're making a mockery of those who have been terrorised for their beliefs – I've spent more time than I'd have ever liked covering the case of a football manager sent bullets and bombs in the post. It's exactly the same as using the legal threat as a means to cloud the discussion on conflicts of interest. Just because morons sent her stupid messages doesn't negate all of the other issues she sidestepped.

I was just going through the ol' Post An Unusual Pic Of Yourself thread saw that our atheistium posted a picture... May have some photoshop potential for any of us more inclined to be total bastards :slol:

I feel bad for her, but despite all of this, despite everything that's gone on, she still thinks she's done nothing wrong. :roll:
