Sega Rally! Only surpassed by the latest one if you ask me

Saturn had some quality games on it, loved a few of the beat em ups, Nights was awesome and had so much fun on Bomberman multiplayer

Even though daytona usa was crap, i loved it because it was my favourite arcade game back in the day. The poor framerate and diabolical draw distance do not really justify it being anywhere near the best saturn game.

Sega Rally was brilliant for its controls, daytona cce was certainly fun and nights was also good.

I really cannot decide on my best sega saturn game, i did abandon it for the playstation after a year or so from what i recollect, it was my first 3d machine though and because of that it was certainly exciting owning one.

Remember when I got me Saturn for Crimbo 96 with VF2, Sega Rally, Daytona and Christmas Nights.
Hardly touched Sega Rally at first, didn't realise it was so damn good!

Flogged it for a PlayStation in 98, don't regret having one though, some of the best games I've ever played were on Saturn, shame there weren't many :(

Come to think of it vf2 probably takes the best game for me, probably because it was so close to its arcade cousin and i remember enjoying it!

True they got the gameplay, sound and music spot on in Virtua Fighter 2

They never managed to match the arcade graphics til the PS2 version of Virtua Fighter 4

Arcade version

Shining Force III. I played this a couple of years after the Saturn's heyday, and it wasn't the first SRPG I'd ever played, but I loved it. It breaks my heart a little that the two follow-up games were never translated.

Panzer Dragoon Saga would be my next biggest crush. I'm sure the graphics would look awful nowadays but it entranced me back in the day.

Nights has aged atrociously, I must say.

Really? I thought NiGHTS was one of the few games to still play well today, the control and feel is brilliant, alot better than the Wii version.

In the same issue they had images of a rumoured 64-bit SEGA Black-Belt console and Ed Lomas won Track & Field using a lighter

God I miss mid-90s CVG :(

Yeah!

Those were the real golden days of gaming when it was so exciting, oh yeah i remember the black belt and ed lomas, why cant the writers be as good now?

Remember Alex Huhtalas stint on big breakfast, i used to wake up every week to see that!

I must admit though i dont remember there being any vf3 saturn images, so it existed then?! :D

I'm pretty sure those screens are taken from an incomplete Dreamcast/Model 3 emulator running on PC.

They must be because I cannot remember seeing them around the saturn days, there were rumours of an add on but no picture iirc.

The saturn days were strange for me, it was when I got into gaming that bit more as I became mesmerised by the 3D graphics and opportunity to play daytona usa on a home console even with its dodgy frame rate and embarassing draw distance!

Bought Sega Saturn+3 games along 2 controller pads off Ebay...as well Virtual On.

:fp: But to be honest I'm excited about playing Virtual On  I remembered I loved the demo because it just features ROBOTS beating each other.

w00t, it has arrived! Although Virtual On hasn't arrived yet... ):
Oh well, I'll be playing good ol' Victory Goal till then. And it looks like I may need to buy Scart cable for it as had to use my old TV for Saturn, and I need to either find my old memory cart, or buy new one...as my Saturn wipes out saves every time I turn it off/on. (Due to low battery)

EDIT: Found the memory cart, woohoo.

Anyone seen the Shenmue footage running on Dreamcast that was on the fourth disk of Shenmue 2?

It pretty much shows footage from both Shenmues, even the Guilin running bits, which leads me to believe a lot of the story, if not all of the story for the first two was done well before the games respective dreamcast releases.

Okay this is another thinly veiled attempt to get people talking about Shenmue again and when the sequel will be announced. ;)

For the Sega Saturn that is a major achievement, it was a good decision not releasing it on that machine, but a bad one not at least re-releasing the dreamcast outings on any of the current consoles.

Best Bomberman game ever...

Never played the 10 vs 10 mode, wish they'd've used this as the Xbox 360 Live one instead of that horrible 3D one they made.

Saturn Bomberman will always be the best version until they re use the engine for a decent Bomberman game.

I played a 10 player game once needed two multi taps though
