RIP in peace Mrs Crab Apple.

Poor Ned, he just can't catch a break, eh?

This means they're going to kill another character off *and* write Edna out? Just end the thing now.

No, I didn't. But now that you say it, yes it makes sense that it is.

Even if Matt Groening didn't like the show anymore, I don't expect him to criticise the current makers so harshly in public.

Going to be very hard for me to skip past any Edna centric episodes for a long time. That and whenever she'll be on I'll just get lost in thinking the actress who played her is no longer around. Same thing happens when I'm watching Sopranos. It's both depressing and annoying.

The Simpsons staff were aware of her illness - perhaps they'd always intended to retire her charater; she was one of the ones mooted to be dying when they ran that advert a while back.

Apparently that was unrelated to this.

Some I knew about and they annoyed me even back then. It's such gooseberry fool writing to create an equilibrium, disrupt it and then fix it by pressing a reset button like they did with numbers 2 and 4 but they did it a gooseberry fool load of other times too like the episode where Gil moves in after he hit rock bottom and in the end creates a new equilibrium where the kindness and patience of Marge helped Gil get his gooseberry fool together, ending up in a better place in his life where things are working out for him. The episode ends with Marge ruining Gil all over again, it's such strawberry floating shite television and it really hammers home the whole Zombie Simpsons thing where things never actually change and nothing ever moves except for certain episodes like the Maude Flanders death episode but even then how long after that was it before another episode came out that had something actually happen?

I'm not saying all episodes have to do this but how many Zombie Simpsons episodes have there been now where something big happens and then the episode ends with a big reset? Classic episodes never even had to do any of that reset bullshit because the plots never got that out of control or were that desperate to create drama.

I knew Milhouse's parents got back together, but that's not particularly odd.

Some of the other things though. :dread: :?

Just watched the three Edna episodes on Sky this evening.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

I look out for the adopted Chinese baby ep purely because of the Chinese dragons...

I am not saying they make the episode watchable, just that they crack me up. And before someone has a fit, they're not "real". They appear to Homer when he's drunk on a plane.
