That's like asking if there are any tips for being good at the violin. If you want to improve and learn, watch as much poker as you can, read as much theory as you can and play even more.

To be fair I'm sure playing the violin is a lot LOT harder.

Patience is a good thing to learn, but the main thing to learn is POSITION. If you don't feel comfortable in what you can do in what position you'll never get anywhere.

EDIT - Got a $150 cash last night for finishing 16th in a tournament. Felt a bit annoyed - think I stacked off a bit too easily A-Q into A-K.

Do you ever NOT fold if you have a gooseberry fool hand?

Sometimes in position I might raise one up to steal the blinds - but that tends to be deeper in a tournament when the blinds are higher the stacks are shorter - and the decision are much harder for the person on the receiving end of the raise.

I've been grinding the $15 Hyper Turbos ever since I won that $160 cash last week, and I am now up to $435. Hoping to grind that up to $500 by the end of the day.

Went on a big downswing - but ground it back up to $500. Proud of my efforts.

Played a uni-house game last night. Only decent-ish hands all evening: Pocket 4's and 8's, folded after the turn both times. KJ, won with pair kings, then AJ called a big raise pre-flop, up against pocket A's... then remainder of chips I shoved with AK.... and hit pocket A's again. How I placed 3rd I will never know  Just was not my night.

Came on the back of a pretty terrible bit of run bad, I am now once again at poker peace! My fave bit was when the table maniac shoved into me three handed when I was holding the nut-flush - and he was drawing absolutely DEAD. :datass:

Playing my nice low stakes last night and ended up £11.80 up. Will take that from 40 minutes of play. As a student every little helps

In a random car park complex in the middle of wales, history will be made. Perhaps. Sort of.

Nice casino here!
