Got home last night to find a speeding prosecution waiting for me

Only yesterday afternoon, I had been boasting in the office about my clean licence (as part of a conversation about speeding fines - I wasn't just showing off). It was the worst example of tempting fate I've ever experienced.

I was doing 40 in a 30, about 100 yards after the limit changed down, caught by a mobile camera. I can remember seeing it and dropping the anchors, but I was obviously too late.

A bit of research indicates that if you're within the "+10% + 9mph" threshold then you'll get to do a course instead of taking the points, which I'm hopeful for. If only so I can gob off some more about my clean licence...

Well, it's a fair cop. I must admit I've been driving faster since I modified my engine a couple of weeks ago, and there's another mod to come this weekend which should hopefully add at least 10bhp or so.

I'll take it easy for a bit now, I guess.

I actually noticed last night that Im driving a bit more aggressively since I got the new car. The power is so easy to get at and so calm that I end up going faster than I would have done in the old one that screamed when you booted it.

Anyway, if its your first offence Id imagine it should be fairly likely that you'll get on a speed awareness course.

About two years ago my wife phoned me up saying "Hahaha.. A speeding ticket came through for you today!" I was like "Are you sure? I would have remembered passing a speed camera and getting flashed. Where was it?" She said it was on some road I never go on. "Ok, and when was it?" She gave me the date. "Ah.. right. That is the day you borrowed my car, remember? Hahahaha" ".....Oh... bugger... I remember now... gooseberry fool."

On a completely unrelated tangent, anyone know any decent car cleaning gear? I was thinking along the lines of a cleaner, a polish/sealant to keep it shiny, alloy protection/shiner and maybe fancy other gooseberry fool that keeps it sparkly.

Im intending to get the pressure washer out this weekend if the weather is nice as the handwash has already faded away and the alloys and paint looks grim, so Id like stuff that I can pick up in a motor store etc.
