Rent it. Problem solved but if you care about supporting developers and gooseberry fool, then buy it. One thing is for sure though this game is worth it.

I think I'll just take the plunge and buy it :D If it's good they'll need support enough to make a Darkness 3.

New Game + just means you get to play through the game again from the start, but this time you start with the powers that you finished the game with first time around.

Feels good playing from the start as a total wrecking machine, man.

If I could've articulated how I felt about dead space 2s narrative without using the word 'gooseberry fool', 'bollocks', and 'lose of gooseberry fool bollocks', it would've read just like what you wrote.
Also I have no idea how anyone could've found the end of ds1 emotionally affecting. Isaac sits down, takes off his helmet, and nicole jumps up behind him and goes BOO. Wow.

I was talking about the whole bit before that, where you go down on the planet and Nicole is leading you around, and then she disappears after a while. I was completely mind strawberry floated. Look dead space and the darkness are different kind of game. The Darkness is more of a character driven game, where as Dead Space is more about immersion and atmosphere. I can understand why some people wouldn't like it.

Good man

 I was thinking about buying it pre owned in a while, but decided I'd like to support the franchise. It's so much better than almost every other first person shooter. It does almost everything right.

Just finished this one. This is game of the year for me. People that say the story line is not the best please tell me which games you play , it seems like I'm missing out on pure orgasmic story lines . This game had the perfect length for me and it didn't make me do gooseberry fool I had no interest in. It kept you involved and not once did you think " why the strawberry float am I doing this level"

Total mind strawberry float/10

Must buy.

NG+ on don difficulty is incredible. Ive said it before and ill say it again,t he combat is so good in this it makes the entire game feel like the awesome cutscene at the end of the original game where the darkness wrecked gooseberry fool up.

Also the story is great, just not as good as the originals. But there so many brilliant characters in it. Its horrible when you have to choose wether eddie or frank dies, and their dialogue in the mansion afterwards, when whoever you choose to survive is reminscing about the one who dies. Was also a bit upset when the darkling died :(

Darkling made laugh out loud a lot times. For example the time he is punching the guy while you interrogate him had me in stitches. He was doing the muhamed Ali foot shuffle and all

Darkling :(

Playing through the first one the amount of times the little Darklings had me in stitches was great. One line that always cracked me up was.

"Sleep, perchance to dream. And piss!"

Played the demo and the gameplay is awesome and it looks great. They also made Jackie's hair look real  The gunplay is some of the best in games, very cinematic.

Rented, played and returned.

I'm going to go against popular opinion and say (in my personal opinion) it was ok but didn't grab me as much as the first one did.

The length of the game was too short and I found the speaking scenes just too long and I kept skipping the conversations.

The powers were interesting (like the first) but I didn't find there was a lot of variety of enemies.

The graphics were improved over the first game and I liked the british darkling creature that followed you around.

Not a bad game but not enough content to justify picking it up at full price. New Game + modes to expand the life of the game does not represent value for money for me.

Good rental option though.

There were guys with shields, guys with whips, guys with guns, teleporting guys, melee only guys. There were quite a few especially comparing to other games. Like COD (lol one)

JUst finished it.

That was pretty good. Short but very fun. Probably a 7/10.

Think i preferred the more open feel of the first (whish Starbreze stuck to it and not moved onto their recent project that looks like it could flop) but this was still well done.
