Just only one, and that's maze thing. But yeah castle is pretty weakest point of RE4.

And the clock tower bit, just after the insects nab Ashley. Rotating the bridge.

Actually yeah, the castle is a real drag mainly because it comes directly after the absolutely strawberry floating mindblowing village section and cant possibly hope to top that.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD - Another game that looks fantastic (way better than MGS2 which looked amaze) and it running at 60 FPS is great. While the game is alot tougher than I remember (I seemed to forget a lot of things about it) but I look forward to going through it again to unlock and find everything. Also dem boss fights, music, style, characters and settings. The Boss is such a great character and I felt genuinely sad when I had to kill her.

The MGS collection has been well worth it. Peace Walker next :D

Really did enjoy that, getting to see the choas unfold as it happens, going to familar places on the ishimaura was cool too. A few nice grim deaths (Dr Howells was my favourite). A nice touch @ the end aswell, thought that was pretty darn good

Half Life: Source - 7/10

Pretty enjoyable journey, even though outdated by superior Half Life 2. The main problem was that no subtitles, so I didn't feel involved with story and world of Half Life 1 compared to HL2 - I just happen to have some gun trying to defend myself.

Good game though, can't wait for Black Mesa fanmade - I'd love to see it in HL2 graphics along closed captions

Ahhh I wish you'd asked me, there's a mod that adds subtitles like below for the game. :(

Well if you fancy giving it another go, here's the mod, extract it, run the exe, point it at your half life source folder and click apply patch. UAC might complain afterwards it failed to install, but it worked for me.

Halo 2 (PC) - Legendary

Wow, what a pain in the arse this was. I'm not convinced Bungie did testing on Legendary, as there are so many overly difficult choke points in this game it's unreal. The first level, for example, has the highest concentration of Elites in the game... Once you get passed that it's not too bad; Until you meet the Brutes. I used to despise the Flood sections of Halo games, but the Brutes managed to outdo them. They're an awful enemy; stupid, overpowered (in close quarters) and too easy to manipulate (long distance). The Elites are by far the best enemies in the games.

Still, I really enjoyed the story, it's a lot better than people made out. Some of the levels were awesome too.

8/10

It took a lonnnng time to get going and by the time I was really enjoying it, it was over. If I'm honest, everything seemed like a step down from the last game apart from how well the game runs. I did enjoy some of the vehicles and weapons but I expected a lot more and I also got bored of the mini-games very quickly. I quite liked the decision making stuff and it will give me a reason to replay the game but the overall package didn't live up to my expectations.

7/10

Resident Evil Revalations
Finished campaign on normal mode. Only had 2 goes of Raid, so not rating that part.

Graphics are great, controls just about getting the balance right (standard controls not CPP). Gameplay was fun, not massively scary but good atmospheric sounds throughout. Was disappointed with the puzzle element, felt a bit of a throwaway with most puzzles and clues in the exact same room, and were so easy you wonder why they even needed a clue. Loved the setting on the ship, some really nice effects when everything starts swaying around later in the game. Quite enjoyed the scanning mechanic, hope to see it again with the concept fleshed out a little more.

Didn't enjoy the water sections too much, thought they missed an opportunity to have some more scares when you paddle around knee height. Found it much nicer to play on solid ground. Did enjoy the gunfight hunter sections, added a change of pace to the slow creep areas.

Episodic nature was perfect for handheld and did like the "previously on resident evil revelations" clips.

Bosses were okay, but then I'm not mad keen on bosses in games in general. Thought the last boss was a bit meh.

Best bit was when you start to hear "may day" and it builds louder as you get closer. Proper atmosphere that :)

7.5/10

Maybe I'll add a point if the raid mode turns out fun - which from what I read by others, it IS.

Haze.

my mate picked it up for £2 for the PS3, played it through on co-op.

WTF were they thinking :fp: :fp: :fp:

the story is very cliched and it could of had some promise, but it didn't work.

one of the funniest games i've played in a long time, unintenionally funny, just a bad game trying to hard with a piss engine running it led to many laughs (the character star jumps  :fp:  )

level design was boring, and later in the game is very confusing as everything looks the same and it doesn't have very good briefs of what your supposed to do.

in fariness its old, but its not, 2008 it came out, second only to turning point in baddness.

You nearly convinced me to buy it then, as Im bored and need something to play, then I saw the price £14.99 :| and remembered that leon was in it. :shifty: But the game is almost worth it for those end credits

I feel the same about the £14.99 price but I'm not really sure why, I've paid a tenner for some indie games and most other HD upgrades are a comparable price.

Psychonauts.

Picked this up yonks ago when it was 99p - I think it was kind of one of the first of these crazy Steam deals. I gave it a go but it didn't have 360 pad support at the time so played like crap.

Turns out it is amazing. Doesn't outstay it's welcome, either. Stays fresh all the way through, and manages to be laugh out loud funny and yet strangely dark in some of the moments when you're in the minds of people with mental problems.

10/10.

MGS2 - 4/10

Gonna be honest, I hated this. I skipped a lot of the cutscenes towards the end because I just didn't give care. Poor gameplay to cutscene time, the plot, whiny characters and the new character designs, shitty viewpoints. Thank strawberry float the plot wasn't as convoluted in MGS3 and actually made sense (well, I guess  )

The first part of the game is decent (taker section and the first half of the rig) but it goes rapidly down hill after the swimming bit, the sword based combat is cool but I really hated how the last half of the game was just cut scenes and boss fights. I felt cheated that I didn't get to run around the other half of the rig.

4/10 fair enough but the plot makes as much sense as any MGS, the only thing I disliked was the "arm" stuff but I've even grown to accept that in the story now.

I love the part where Ocelot shoots Fortune in the head and then he's all like "there's no such thing as magic, or the supernatural; only cutting edge technology!" and shows the little box that deflects bullets

I'd give it a 9, loses a point for Rose and other whiny characters.

It really pissed me off what they done with that in 4, The arm stuff actually made sense because of 3 after we learn The Sorrow (a medium) is his dad but they throw that to gooseberry fool and opt for boring old nano-machines and gene therapy.
