Always wanted to make my own soup but never got round to it
Can someone tell me/give me a recipe or a basic idea of how to make soup?
I like mushroom and tomato soups best

Just had an awesome steak  Organic Rump from Sainsburies. Didn't season beforehand, I got the pan as hot as it can go and threw that bad boy in.

Turned every 20 seconds for 2 mins. Put on some foil with the juices. I seasoned, added a knob of butter, closed the foil and left for 5 mins to rest.

I served it with green beans and rocket salad.

So strawberry floating tasty and rare.

Waitrose order included some hard mature goats cheese. Cheese is just too lovely.

I've started making my own McMuffins. They taste strawberry floating divine.

I've also realised that I don't eat nearly enough vegetables or fruit. Might have to head down to the market soon.

Tried some goats cheese the other day for the first time. Don't think I'll be having it again!

In terms of soups...love 'em. Classic chicken, vegetable or minestrone, to more chunky soups with pearl barley and other stuff in there.

Really easy to make, very healthy, quick to prepare, easy to store...superb.

Watched River Cottage Everyday last night and now I've got the urge to make some sourdough bread. Anyone tried it before, seems like a right ball ache?

That steak would taste nicer if you only turned it once.

Yeah Heston said to keep turning it so I thought I'd give it a go. It actually turned out much more rare than usual, whilst still having that charred outside.

It'd be tastier still if you flambéed that bad boy. Bit of brandy chucked on, lots of flame and drama, and the juices you're left with are to die for.

Takes some real stones to do it in your kitchen at home, though, as the flames lick the ceiling/disappear up the extractor...

I have no idea what my favourite sausage is. I don't eat nearly enough as I should. I like those tesco finest flavour ones especially as they go on offer quite a lot.

I really like Italian style sausages with fennel in. Delicious. Wish i had some to put on my pizza tonight. Actually I think I do in the freezer. Hmm.

yeah I like those tesco finest ones too. Red onion one is my favourite. But they are very meaty so sometimes I like normal sausages such as the Richmonds.

I really don't like electric hobs. We have one and I much prefer normal ones.

Made some last year with a marmalade and whiskey sauce. Was really nice. Obviously I will have the classic though too.
