I used that, as well as the £6 credit I had on green man gaming, bringing the price to a neat £10.

Gamesradar have posted up an article of why we're the master race...

http://www.gamesradar.com/why-next-gene ... PC-gaming/

an excerpt...

Quote:
As much as we gamers moan about the increasing homogenisation of mainstream games, we never acknowledge that the problem is utterly exacerbated on consoles. We ignore the fact that the development freedom that we say we want is happening every day on the PC. We rightly champion the odd console release like Braid or Limbo as a mighty strike for creativity, but there's a raft of stuff in that vein happening all over the PC every day, along with more new IP than you can keep up with. We complain, but we rarely make the leap away from the systems and structures that cause the problems we lambast.

On a console. a unique narrative experience like Dear Esther would be lauded as a once-in-a-generation avant garde masterpiece. On the PC, it's a PC game...

So what would I really be buying a new set of consoles for? Better-looking Halo and Fable? Better-looking Uncharted? Another couple of big new first-party franchises on top of better-looking versions of all the others? A whole raft of family games from Microsoft?

Meanwhile, a PC will give me the best versions of the third-party blockbusters, and all of the medium-size and small-scale creativity I want. Games that will never hit the console market. Games that will never have to. Games that would be hampered if they tried. To rob myself of that would be like limiting my film-viewing to whatever the big multiplexes give me every month. And I’m certainly not going to do that.

Then again, I'll probably change my mind about all of this as soon as I see an HD Mario game running. We shall see, friends, we shall see.

Cool.

Just tried to play Commandos 2. I've no idea how I ever managed to play, let alone finish it, when I was a little kid. It just throws you right in without even a tutorial. The "tutorial" levels are useless and don't really teach you anything. Maybe if I can be bothered I'll learn and play it properly. Otherwise I might just play the 3rd game, I seem to remember that one having a decent tutorial.

New Humble Bundle takes a twist......Mojam!

Pretty much Mojang are sat in their office all weekend making a game from scratch over the next 60 hours while people watch the live stream of their office. Donations go to 4 charities and get you access to the final game and all builds posted during the weekend.

http://www.humblebundle.com

All that is happening right now are the four major players staring blankly at their screens.

Getting into it now. Just finished the first 2 levels of C2. I really hate that "oh gooseberry fool, what do I do" feeling of starting a new level though. It's so daunting! Good games though.

I can see them going the way of 3D Realms. Sat on a hemorrhaging pile of money till they fade into the ether.

Nice that they've got some decent charities in there instead of shitty Child's Play.

I would suggest that it's because you had the time and inclination to play WITH it. Not be told by the game how to complete it

Yeah, the olden days were better, weren't they. Not just in how games were played but in the fact that I was young, care free and had all the time in the world. I miss being a kid sometimes. :(

Been playing it some more though. Sat down last night with my huge mug of tea and played it. I'm getting into it now, it's really sublime. I love it.

Still not getting anywhere with Company of Heroes though, the AI just beats me down in skirmish constantly.

I've got KOTOR II installing but before I start playing I'm looking to get the Restoration Mods. Does anyone have any experience with these and could recommend some for me? I've looked on the KOTOR II section on FileFront and came across this list here. Shall I just download and install everything there?
