Why is it in movies when a character is in a fight and suffers a bleeding lip and puts his hand to his mouth and finds blood there, and then tastes his own blood, he is deemed to look really cool?

Who made this rule?

Since we're on the topic of films...

Paying the best part of £10 to go and see a film, then having to sit through about 20 minutes of TV adverts.
Film trailers are fine, but that 20 minutes usually excludes the trailers.

Unskipable adverts at the start of DVDs/Blurays really get on my nerves.

also related, Lovefilm's streaming service has switched from Flash to Silverlight rendering the service utterly unusable in Firefox.

arseholes.

People who talk in lectures louder than the lecturer. Okay so the guy in the class with tourettes can't help it but the rest have no excuse.

It wasn't even graded you banana split and yet you skipped a seminar because the 5 minutes of reading wikipedia it would take to have enough knowledge is clearly too much hassle

It seems like there's always someone when you're doing a group presentation who doesn't contribute whatsoever. As a group of 5 we had to submit a 3000 word essay so we split it up into 600 word chapters. One of the group (who I only ever met once because he didn't turn up to any of our group meetings) emailed me 250 words the day of the deadline which he had copy/pasted off Wikipedia. We grassed him up to the lecturer and made him get 0.

I once did that to, it was two days before the due date, and the lecturer made her do it all by herself.

The fact that all the interior doors in the bioscience buildings automatically lock at 5pm, meaning you have to find a cleaner to let you through each door when you're trying to find a lecturer at 5:20pm.

I haven't been on a bus in years, thankfully - overpriced, dirty, slow, horrible passengers, and I can't stand up straight in them either due to being over 6ft tall (don't they think about this when designing them? Loads of headroom upstairs, but barely any downstairs - why not just even them out a bit?).

The buses that have actually stopped for me have been pretty nice, it only seems to be the ones shuttling to the metrocentre that bother to stop. They're usually quite empty and clean and have more space than most buses I've been on.

TV ads should never be allowed in cinemas. It ruins the feeling of anticipation I get, and a lot of ads are so embarrassing on the big screen I tend to end up facepalming.

The last thing I want to be forced to endure when I go and see, say, Iron Sky, is "YOU'RE SO MONEY SUPERMARKET," as loud as can be.

When, using French as an example, French people in films speak to each other in English.

My local cinema is thankfully quite considerate and start showing the TV style ads about 10 mins before the actual film is meant to start.

Pretty much this. When I was at uni, I had zero tolerance for people like that. One guy just went off on holiday without telling anyone, so he was cut out straight away. Another group project like the one you mention, that wasn't an option unfortunately, it was a shared mark, so I had to literally save the project myself - which I did. In the end I got an Master's degree with merit while they only just passed, so strawberry floating vindicated 8-)

That guy from the Sun who does the Paper Review on Sky Sports News who dishes out criticism and dirt like its going out of fashion, only then to be asked a question about Tevez every single week, in which he reveals he is that crooks Kia Joorabichan's press agent - to me totally undermining his actual profession of being neutral. So irritating. Why does a football AGENT even need a press officer? Jeez...

It tears so that you have 3/4 of the square and the other part remains stubbornly attached to the rest? :x

I dont like it when you have a 2-ply paper toilet roll where the ply has come apart and the roll has revolved such that the sheets within the ply are 1/2 a sheet out of sync. I have to hold one ply and revolve the roll to correct. :x
