I've recently cleared out my wardrobe and thought I might be able to get a few quid flogging some of it on eBay. I have listed 5 items tonight already, but when trying to do my most recent one I have been greeted by this message:



I've sold clothes on eBay before and, as I've said already, was successfully able to upload 5 this evening too. Google doesn't appear to be much help beyond saying I need to link my accounts, but my eBay account IS linked with my paypal, and has been for years, so what the strawberry float is going on?


EDIT: Just managed to list another item absolutely fine, but when I went to do the other one (that caused the issue) again, the same message came up!

Must be because you're selling a particular brand. There's plenty of fake Calvin Klein stuff on eBay for example so you're gonna have to confirm your identity with a bank account. That's separate to the PayPal stuff. Although if your PayPal is linked to your bank account that should be enough If they're making you link eBay to your bank account I've no idea how you're supposed to do that.

But everything I'm selling is a brand.

It's mainly brands like Topman, River Island etc, and this particular one that is causing me issues is from New Look.

An additional issue I've just found is being unable to set a high enough postage for a jacket. It's quite heavy and worth a fair bit of money so I want to send it 1st class recorded, which, given its weight (around 1.4kg), makes it cost about £6.50 - but eBay won't let me put in anything higher than £4
