I moved house about a month ago and have bought a powered/ amplified indoor aerial. This one:

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500002951&langId=-1&productId=1501190125

The reviews aren't amazing but two of my friends have one and said it was good. Plus, it's smaller than other amplified aerials and looks nice. :shifty:

I got mine back home and managed to get most channels but it was pretty temperamental, before, about a week ago, the aerial broke. :fp:

My question is - how can you tell if you can actually get good (digital, of course) TV signal in any given house/ room? When the aerial worked I had it up on the window sill facing outwards. The Sky dish and existing roof aerial both face that direction.

Is it case of trial and error or is their a tried and tested method?

If you have a roof aerial why are you using an indoor one?

I thought someone might ask that. It's not hooked up to my room and we are renting the place.

After the amount of disruption from work the landlord did in our previous place I'm not even going to ask to have it connected!

Why ask? Just buy a few meters of coax, drill a subtle hole in the bottom corner of a wall and plumb the strawberry floater in.

Yes, when I put an outdoor aerial up, the real estate agent said don't even bother to tell the landlord.
I don't know about drilling though.
