So I've started playing Doom 3 on my laptop for the first time ever and I'm shitting myself It's the only game where I've ever seemed to just turn around and run away as if I was the actual character, due to fear

Enjoy it while it lasts, it wears off after a few hours. but its great while it lasts. The Hell levels are still amazing tho. Creepy gooseberry fool going on there.

A nice attempt to bring some Doom back into Doom 3, but way too slow.

It's still a great game and always will be. Carmack has now released the open code for the entire game to modders to do with as they please. I have now got both Doom3 and the expansion Resurrection of Evil on my Steam account, just so I know I'll always have a fully-patched copy of each available to download and play whenever the fancy takes me to return to the creepy world of that old abandoned UAC Mars Base and all of it's dark, dark corners...Good times.

Even years after I first played it, and subsequently the expansion I still agree with Cal's unbridled love of Doom 3, it's still a master-class in shooter design. Though I fear even now it is still overshadowed by HL2.

Finally, finally managed to get the doom 3 E3 demo working. Seems it hates AMD cards and only runs on nvidia ones. I was dying to play this after i found out about it. It contains loads of scenes cut from the final game but were present in the early screenshots and stuff, e.g.



is there in playable for min the 3rd E3 map. Its jsut cool to finally be able to play it, feels like playing some of gamings history.
