Panny sets of late (last two generations at the very least), while being some of the best TV's you can buy, do seem to suffer from little niggling issues. On the VT20 there was an issue where when a scene went from light to dark a split second after going dark it would darken further still. They all but sorted it out on the VT30 only for people to then start noticing the opposite happening (light scenes getting lighter) if you calibrated a certain setting beyond a certain point. My VT30 suffered from it too (mine suffered with both issues) but then thinking about your set making a noise the other day I realised it had stopped doing it. I also had a patch of green on my screen which would show up ridiculously clearly when watching field sports but that too went away of its own accord. So yeah, those are your options: put up with in the hope that it goes away or send it back.

Quite fancy one of those sound bars myself.

How's this for a deal on a 5.1 + 3D blu ray player?

I wanted to say that but I didn't want to come off as a guy that had just bought something else and was poo-pooing any alternatives.

So far the sound bar I got is good but I haven't tried it with any of my consoles or movies yet so I will wait before I comment there.

looking for a new HDTV. Preferably 32" and will be running a PS3, 360 and Sky through it. Not really too clued up on what TVs are out there so some help would be appreciated.

Not looking to spend that much if I'm being honest.

So do I need a 1.4 HDMI cable for 3D content, or is 1.3 fine? I can't get a straight answer from the rest of the internet.

Looking around it seems to be that anything labled 'High Speed' should be able to handle 3D content.

I didn't really realise there even were different types of HDMI cable, anything capable of 1080p should be ok I think.

Yeah 1.4 but high speed is fine, the higher the data transfer the better

My Panasonic Plasma TV cant remember the model well right now, but anyways, it seems to me like the picture is always getting dimmer, sometimes I recheck its on dynamic setting..

Could it be that it is slowly dying on me?

Have LCD televisions corrected the problem of "dragging blacks" (pixels on the panel unable to change from one extreme to another fast enough without leaving visible motion trails) yet? It can get really quite annoying when watching football, & it's a problem that keeps popping up on every LCD TV I watch (including mine, which is a Sony from 2009). Someone I know has a Samsung C530 (2010, I think) & it's present & correct on that, too.

100Hz processing (to correct the other problem of motion blur) has no bearing on it at all. It's my latest bugbear & it's beginning to piss me off a bit!

Pretty sure you'd need a reciever or amp to hook those up.

Not really. You'll need an amp and various leads to hook it all together

Depends on what your TV has as audio outs and the impedance. Those speakers are 6 ohm so your telly needs to match that.

What telly is it?

If it's the panny you spoke of earlier, I'm not sure. The speakers take 20-100W at 6 ohms. The TV is outputting 10W each so the output is underpowered without an amp.

Agreed. Onto more serious matters. Are Comet going to have any nice sales at Easter?
