Another random fact for the evening, I played for Coventry Blaze from Under 16 to Under 19 level. We played up in Manchester one game. It's not the nicest rink to be honest. Plus their captain punched me in the face...whilst I had a face cage on. Awesome.

Although Manc was better than this abomination of an ice rink.

 Sounds amazing.

How long ago was this by the way? Just as I had a friend who played in the youth teams- does the name Rory Hannan ring a bell?

I started in 2004 and finished in 2008. The name doesn't ring a bell, but I was always in the 'B' teams at each age group so he may have been in the 'A's'.

Nah to be honest I've never been there, and have no idea about the Barons at all. I'll take your word for it. ;)

Wade Belak came to play for the Coventry Blaze during the lock out!

Then he killed himself. :(

Not sure what that says about UK hockey/Coventry.

Ha, it's just old really.

Where do you usually stream your games from by the way?

Used to use atdhe.net, which got closed down, so now it's atdhe.tv, which usually works and I think is just the same site with a different name. TBH though I tend to listen to listen to radio stations more, as on most streams I struggled to see the puck because of the quality (or lack of) of the stream.

I've done many of these threads in years gone by, I thought there was just a handful of NHL fans on GRcade.

So strawberry floating true. You can get a subscription on the PS3 if you have an American account, but it costs around £100 per year (actually, it might be 8 or 9 months, I forgot) for every game in HD. Too much for me, but a mate has it. I find the games too fast for the usual unpaid streams :(

It used to be on ESPN America and Channel 5 did it not? I've not had a TV License for a couple years until recently and haven't got around to checking.

NHL sold the rights for Europe, Middle East & Asia to Medge Consulting & AMI. It's the most shameful thing they could have done as these clowns haven't done anything with the rights.

I suspect they are still working out what to do with them, in the meantime everyone is on a black-out. I think some shitty channel on Sky shows a few games, but it's nothing short of a disgrace.

ESPN show them at ridiculous times in the evening with no repeats I think.

I remember watching the Ducks win the Stanley Cup in 2007 on channel 5. Those were the days.

I tried to buy an ESPN online pass to watch the finals last year, but they only take credit cards, and I only have debit. Sucks.

Nice. I wish I could've seen a hockey game in Canada, but both times I've been, it was out of season.

Poor loss for Vancouver the other night against the Blue Jackets - four game streak comes to an end against one of the worst teams in the league. :fp:

Yeah I didn't see it but it was a bad result, at least they only lost in a shootout.

Anyone going to be watching the HBO 24/7? Starts tonight, here's the preview:
