I had a browse earlier and just to say that the Portal 2 achievement page had a few things in the wrong order. For example Drop Box has the wrong description. Looks likes a well polished site otherwise. Nice work.

Site looks great. Nicely presented. Do you not make any money any more from it though? Or do you still sell the apps?

I still make a little bit off of my apps, but Apple are too much of a pain in the arse to deal with, so I'm working on the site with Seb instead.

Has anyone found anything that they don't like about the site yet?

So you’re trying to come up with six Pokémon for your team in order to pummel friends and conquer the online scene? Then one important thing to think about are the types of the Pokémon you’re putting in your team.

A Pokémon with little reason to consider would be Ducklett, for example, its dual type of Flying and Water makes him incredibly weak to Electric attacks, and while the Flying type cancels out the weakness to grass, it’s now weak to rock which is normally an easy strength for Water types.

A good Pokémon to consider would be Galvantula. A Bug & Electric Type its only weakness’ are Fire and Rock and while many players may try and use a Flying Pokémon against it; its Electricity cancels out this weakness. Also being a bug, Galvantula can learn maneuvers for taking down pesky Dragon Types, which is also helpful.

So consider Hybrid types, as they can sometimes throw opponents off and lend themselves to sneaky tactics, but try and avoid hybrids with shared weakness’ as they can be hit extremely hard.
Quite a bit wrong here; there a loads of pokemon that have 4x weaknesses, but have many redeeming factors. Weaville, Tyranitar, Scyzor, Heracross, Leavanny...

It doesn't take into account Pokemon abilities either - Electross, an electric Pokemon. It'd be weak to ground moves... Nope, it has Levitate.

As a rule of thumb an Increased Stat will add 10% to that statistic while a Decreased Stat will cause a 10% decrease. Nature’s are handed out at random when you catch or hatch a Pokémon, and getting your perfect Nature will forever annoy you.

Catch a load of Pokemon with the Synchronise ability and there's a 50% chance of meeting a Pokemon with the same nature. When breeding give the mother an everstone and it's more likely to pass on the nature too.

IVs

IV stands for ‘Individual Value’, which, unlike EVs, cannot be affected through training and, unlike Natures, are extremely difficult to work out. Put simply, some humans are naturally better at some things than others, your friend might be stronger through no effort on their part while you are stronger, and every Pokémon you encounter in the game has its own Individual Statistic that is personal only to that individual creature.
There's a guy in the subway that rates your Pokemons IVs.

You can also use Feathers found on Bridges and drugs such as Iron and Zinc to add up to 100 Evs to one stat, meaning you only actually have to train the remaining 155 points.
The feathers only increase it by 1, the medicines increase it by 4 (1 whole stat). You can only use 10 medicines, but you can use as many feathers as you want.

Anything else you spot that doesn't seem right?

Just a quick ask, traffic to the site has been really slow (older game guides doesn't really help, but content was needed), so I was hoping that whoever can spare a few minutes can visit the site and 'like' it on their Facebook (link is on the site) and either Tweet/Like or G+ a guide/every guide.

The Deus Ex guide is almost finished and I've begun putting the Gears 3 guide together already, so that'll be a day 1 guide (as far as the campaign is concerned at the very least). All we need is a bit of social media pimpage. The GamerGuides YouTube channel now has over 700 videos uploaded and we've decided to give everyone access to HD videos (but the item tracking will remain for paid members only).

So yea, any and all tweets/Likes or G+'s would be super appreciated.

I'm sure you'll grow your traffic organically over time, once you're indexed higher on search engines for individual game guides it'll gradually build up. Plus the site looks the business!

Does the site use an open source CMS by any chance?

Yea, but getting traffic sooner would be nice ;)

It's a custom-made CMS that was tailored to the needs of the site. Works really well for adding new guides. :D

Had a look through the Deus EX guide. Really good work! The site itself is nice as well. :D

The Deus Ex guide wasn't anything to do with me, thank Dalagonash for his hard work!

The Gears of War 3 has now been made live, and I'm - literally - in the middle of finishing it off and adding it to the site throughout today and tomorrow (and pretty much all of next week). So PLEASE use this guide if you need any help on the game.

I recently used your Gears Of War 3 guide for help during my solo run on Insane. I must say that it was a top quality guide, full of helpful images that made it easy to find the hidden collectables, and advice that got me through the many tough battles in one piece. Aside from a couple of minor spelling mistakes I noticed, the guide itself was bang on! Brilliant work, and I will spread the word about your guide across to any of my freinds that still need help with the game. I look forward to seeing what you have planned next for the site.

Hi,
Sorry man, only just started playing Batman today as a matter of fact. Really enjoying it as I never played that much of the last one. Unfortunately I've not been 'asked' to do any more guides since Gears 3, so until then I'm afraid you'll have to get your guide assistance for the newest games from elsewhere.

I thought that might be a case. Shame that your portfolio is so small though. The guides you do are really good, but to be competitive you need to do most, if not all, large games within a week of them coming out. I know you do this part time though Millsey, but it's just an observation. Any plans on uncharted, batman, skyrim, zelda, mw3, bf3 or AC? Might be worth trying to get all be big games done by christmas day, I can imagine thats a time a lot of parent are going to be looking for advise for games their kids are stuck on. And do you guys use google ad words? I've heard good things about them.

Lets just say I'm very (very) acutely aware of the timings needed for launching a guide. But then my spare time isn't free (and I don't believe it should be, with the equipment and experience I've got), and when the budget isn't there... well, neither are my guides. :(

Will there be a Skyrim guide coming? Although I've got the actual guide, and I more than likely wouldn't use it in a guide sense, I'd definitely pay to have a digital copy of this mammoth book in front of me.

CTRL+F beats the gooseberry fool out of an Index, you see?

Honestly, very unlikely because again because of multiple reasons. But lets just say if it DID go up on the site, it sure as hell wouldn't be by me. He wouldn't be able to afford the fee I'd have to charge to cover a game as stupidly large and complex as this one!
