I've got it into my head to get every Sega console I can get my hands on.

For this task I've set myself some rules:

They all have to be boxed.
I have to get each variation of a console release (Master System II, Megadrive II).
Colour variations are exempt from this rule (though I'm desperate for a black Dreamcast)
Overseas variations are excluded except where they never received a UK release (SG-1000, Nomad, Pico)
Add-ons count
The various combinations of consoles count (Megadrives bundled with computers

So, despite having a very impressive Sega collection I'm actually starting pretty much from scratch as most of my stuff doesn't have boxes.

So far I've got
Sega SG-1000 (first model)
Dreamcast

When I have the time I'll be posting a check list with what I need and what I still need

You're strawberry floated. There's about a zillion Brazillian Tectoy varieties alone.

cheapest sega mastersystem mk I i can find...

boxed

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEGA-MASTER-S ... 1c1db0fd3e

seems its really quite expensive compared to the master system II, £50+

i still need a dream cast to finish off my sega collection, not to fussed on nomads and the really old stuff, just a mastersystem, mega drive, saturn, dreamcast and gamegear, got most of that, but very tempted at the mo to get...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sega-Multi-me ... 415c250b35

£150 well spent possibly...

oh and the boxed version...

I know, well and truly strawberry floated, particularly with the Brazillian stuff, but with some of the rarer Japanese stuff too.

I was in a bidding war on Ebay for (another) Sega SG-1000 (better condition than mine) but the minute it weny over £175 I was out. I can't really justify having 3 of the same console and I wasn't risking not recouping that money on my two Sega SG-1000s

Currently bidding on a Sega Mark III on ebay but doubt I'll win. I've earmarked £200 as my absolute top on this. I'm willing to spend this on a console I don't already own.

I have a boxed white saturn from the asain market plays NTSC-J games but is 240v so no step down required and it also plays copies. I fricken love it, its my pride and joy although to be honest i've only seriously got in to the game collecting side at the moment im buying up the cheap common games so I have a bit of a libary to play on then gonna start aiming for the more desireable games. I also own a mega drive 1, master system 2, dreamcast, saturn PAL + NTSC but unfortunatly with the exception of the saturn. Although I too aim to hae boxed consoles for presevation and the unboxed will be the ones I play on.

Good luck with the collecting

The Sega SG-1000 is currently at £301! Glad I managed to snap my two up relatively cheaply when I did.

Currently winning the Mark III bidding, I expect that to change as the auction comes to a close.

I'll try and get pics up this weekend (non-boxed and boxed stuff). The SG-1000 went for £410 in he end. I can't believe I snapped mine up for £75 and £150...I got off pretty damn lightly!

The Mark III is hovering around the £40, I'm considering upping my highest bid

kewl, nice one, i was very tempted to buy a virtual boy this week, but i'm going to hold out for a boxed version, simply because its for collectors piece it may as well be.

looking at a famicom at the mo.

So far it's a complete failure.

I got into a bidding war for another SG-1000 - stopped at £180, it went for over £400

The Mark III I was bidding on was going well. Bidding ended at 1am so I got up to see it through to the bitter end. Only I lost my nerve, put in my bid with 20 seconds to spare and lost it! If I'd kept my cool and sniped at the last minute it would have been mine!

Got my eye on a couple of SG-1000s MK2 at the moment, got to play it cool this time
