What an amazing match all around. The fact that the build up wasn't wasted like every other chance they've had over the last couple of years is an achievement in itself. The best crowd in such a long time too.

I'm guessing Punk will take time off after SummerSlam then return at the Rumble, and Cena will take the punishment from Vince up until his WrestleMania match with The Rock. Triple H (where is he? Injured?) will get one last title run before being retired by Punk with a Pepsi Plunge.

Fantasy booking yeah.

I have not watched wrestling for a long while but have seen lasts nights event today.

Christ almighty John Cena moves like a sloth at times. The Cena/Punk match was ok at best, bar the atmosphere which was great.

I think, thinking back to what I have seen, the best matches with ladders were with the Dudley's, Chris & Edge and the Hardy brothers. Mostly all, bar Christian, gone now for one reason or another.

Armageddon 2008
Cyber Sunday 2008
No Mercy 2008
Unforgiven 2008
Backlash 2008
Royal Rumble 2008

Any of these worth ordering? They're all in the new Silvervision sale.

No Mercy was meant to be great that year. HBK and Jericho in a ladder match? Sold. Rumble 2008 was the great one at MSG I believe

What intrigues me most is how they'll handle Bryan. Even if he cashes and loses, the character is a total babyface so he won't be preying on someone when they're vulnerable. If he cashed in in advance for a match then they have a full match to make him look strong if he loses. Personally I'd like to see Bryan built up slowly but surely, have him play his pure babyface role outside the ring but make him a viscous little bastard in the ring with elbows all over the place and just beating the holy crap out of people.

So TNA put on a watchable (if repetitive) PPV last Sunday and then WWE respond with an amazing show the next. Could wrestling finally be getting on track? Probably not but last night was a show that won't be forgotten in a long time. Lots of you know that you went the usual prediction path of Cena and Orton to win all and I doubt any of you shed a tear that it failed for once.

Lucien wins the bonus points but the newcomers (yet again) put in a good challenge for the top. Sw26 was top of the leaderboard before this round but it looks like the pressure got to him

GRAPL Tag Battle
Darkritual and Prototype (19) vs Slimgrady and Drumstick (18)
Zellery and Powers (18) vs Teh Bork and Jim (18)
Sw26 and Dante (12) vs J.Vengeance and Irene Demova (10)
Reavus and Tomvek (13) vs Dig Dug and Damage Inc (13)

Those in red are eliminated.
Firstly even with Sw26 scoring only 3 his team managed to scrape through because Irene no showed. All he had to do was turn up and score 2 points and his team would have been through.
Also you'll notice that the Zellery/Powers vs Bork/Jim was a draw. There is no way to seperate them and there is no winner. They don't get any bonus points for this round but they both go through meaning that one of the semi-finals will be a three-way. Again it will be those two teams with the lowest scoring team, Sw26 and Dante, making the trio.
Reavus/Tomvek vs DDDI was a draw also except the teams could be seperated as Dig Dug had the highest personal score.

I watched it on Youtube and thought it was ok. I wouldn't bother paying for it.

Thanks for the advice CJ, couldn't remember if it was meant to be any good or not.

The problem with DVDs like those are that they are full of revisionist history. They done a half-decent job of the Nitro DVD but I'm sure Rise and Fall was received pretty poorly.

They had the perfect chance to unveil a new re-design with the Miz that time....but i can't believe all they did was turn the "W" upside down :fp: This storyline MUST see us get a re-designed title because that spinner belt just looks ridiculously tacky. No need to go over the top with the re-design, sometimes simple is much better. The belt SW posted is exactly the sort of design i think the WWE title should have.

I always used to like this design of the belt personally.

Have we heard any reports of injury yet? As Chocolate Jim said that Raw MitB match was just sheer chaos at times - the ending still makes me laugh though  I thought Wade was one Wasteland away from getting the win, but i'm intrigued with what they do with D. Bryan...i can see him cashing it in a "honourable" way to be honest. Can't believe Booker's got me calling him D. Bryan now

I really don't mind Booker T. He reminds me of Tazz.
