I do agree with the last paragraph there but the rest is confusing to me. This obviously isn't trying to push the boundaries of realism like Crysis or Battlefield: it's highly stylised and probably has more in common, graphically, with Borderlands. I think it looks amazing.

Stylised or not, they aren't pleasing to me. And it's not just about the graphics. It just seems mediocre in every aspect from what I could tell from the video.

Each to their own. I thought Far Cry 2 was abysmal and still though the Far Cry 3 trailer was amazing. You are clearly mental.

Mental.

I bought Far Cry 2 a while ago and thought it was gooseberry fool because of the outposts.

But I bought it bck recently and decided to play it on easy. It becomes a much better game. Not only because you can get around more easily, but because it allows you to experiment with the weapons more freely.

By their own game character's words, Ubisoft are completely insane.

Slow down there chap. I don't see spreadable fire yet, I also see random numbers popping up. What's up with that?

It says something about the player unlocking a skill point at the end, so it's obviously their XP system. Hope there's an option to hide the numbers and the glowing weapons.

Definitely getting this, thought 2 was excellent, this seems to be pushing it even further.

FC2 was great in short sharp bursts. It had so many great ideas and features. Sadly, it was badly let down by the checkpoints and constantly having to fend off ransoms as you traverse point to point.

I'm excited by FC3.

Is it too early to play Ubisoft Insane DRM Roulette with this?

It will have it. It's a no brainer like Falsey hating indy games and SD having a controversial opinion.

I would like to remain optimistic, that all the DRM suits are unceremoniously dumped during a moment of unprecedented corporate clarity, leading to it just being on steam with no stupid always-online DRM or anything like that, however I know it won't be the case. In that eventuality, would it be wrong to buy it to give money to the devs and because I want to play it :shifty: but then pirate it to get round the horrendous things they put in place.
