I like your stuff, Floex. How do you make it? Do you use that software for your job or are you just mucking around to get to grips with it?

Cheers guys!

So yeah, I use a 3d software program called Cinema 4D. It's one of the easier programs to get into 3D modelling for anyone who is first starting out.

It's then basically building shapes. Take the ball for example, there is already a ready made sphere so tha's my base. I then create several smaller spheres and place them into the bigger one. I then attach rings throughout to add to the overall feel. Once everything is in place, you add lighting, shadows, materials to bring it from nothing to something. The project is exported with an alpha (so I can add in my own background with a different program) The background is then created in say Photoshop or if I wanted it moving, I would be using after effects

A bit of both but mainly the latter. The katamari picture is just me mucking around and seeing what I can come out with. It's my first time making a proper scene like that though so pleased how it's come out but can see the problems with it a mile off. My job, while quite unrestrictive, I have no passion for the subject so I do this stuff as an outlet  It's early days but my work is coming along

For tutorials I highly, highly recommend GreyScale Gorilla. Superb starting point to get you understanding how to use the project. Used it myself for the pictures on the last page

My dad makes crossword puzzles in his free time (ala :link:). I occasionally draw some pictures for him to use:

I just now noticed how abnormally long the woman's neck is. Also the hands are awful, but I've known that for a while.

(the simpler pictures go in the children's crosswords, and anything that could be described as a "scene" (something which might have a caption to go with it) goes in the grown-up crosswords)

Hello Everyone!

I have been looking at all of the different types of art work in this thread for quite a while now, but have never actually posted my own drawings. Earlier today however i finally decided to sort out an image hosting account, so now i can contribute to the thread myself.

Most of my work is either done at home in my spare time, or finished during lessons at college. I've took the liberty of placing my drawings in spoiler boxes, so they take less space on the page. Most of them are based upon videogames, and films i have recently watched. Feel free to let me know what you think of them, and i hope you like what you see!

Wow. Amazing stuff. How long does it take you to complete one of them? The amount of detail in there is crazy, must take ages. Wish I was that good at drawing.

Thanks chap! glad you liked them.

The time it takes roughly depends on the drawing itself, and if i'm going to include a background in the picture or not. Most of them take around 2 to 4 hours in total. Although the Gears Of War 3 one i recently finished took around 7 hours. Rather than fully complete one from start to finish in a single sitting, i'll usually draw in seperate intervals until it's complete. Fortunately i've got quite a bit of spare time on my hands at the moment, and drawing has always been a hobby of mine.

I used to draw quite a bit in my spare time - never anything as good as posted in here. Just never had the concentration needed. Haven't sat down to draw for years now - excluding doodles done while in Uni lectures etc - used to really enjoy it.

Thanks for the positive feeback guys, i appreciate it!

I've done a few more over the past few days, mostly Gears Of War themed ones, so i'll probably move onto a different game next week. Anyway, i've placed them in spoiler boxes as always, feel free to check them out and such!..

That work is brilliant. I was thinking of posting stuff I've done but every time I go to do it I go on a thread or forum and see guys who make me look bad. Nothing against you but my work is nothing compared to that.

EDIT: actually I take that back I just saw this:

Thanks for the compliment!

Feel free to upload some of your own work though chap! We all have our own different styles of art to share here, so it'd be most welcome in this thread. From what i've seen around the internet, even my work looks laughable to others in comparisson. But at the end of the day, it all depends on what artistic equipment you have at your disposal.
