To be honest, I agree with John Galt on the present thing. It's not the fact that I haven't received anything, it's the fact that it seems like LA has been happy to receive a gift and give nothing back into the community - I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt when he posted in February but we're now three weeks on and well into March, which is not acceptable in anyone's terms. He's had his chance to speak out, unlike Scotty who hasn't even been in this thread from what I can tell although you are quite right JG, Scotty should have done something by now if he's been prompted multiple times by Buff. I wanted LA to come through, I really did, but he hasn't. If he comes in here gibbering about sending things or telling us he's sent something out and it's been lost in the post then I have one or two points to put to him:
1. If LA claims he's sent something else out and it hasn't arrived, I'd very much like a full explanation as to why he didn't
record the delivery. It's common sense if something's been sent previously and not arrived, which I'm very dubious about now if I'm honest.
2. Why sign up for this in the first place if you know there's very little chance of you getting anything out on time, or even at all? I'm not being funny and I appreciate that people want to get involved, but there's a time and a place for involvement and this definitely isn't it.
It's too late now really for any presents to be sent or received, and I maintain that I'm not entirely bothered that I haven't got anything as receiving isn't really the point of the exercise(lololol), but something needs to be done to stop people from doing this. I'm not having a go at Buff or anything because he's done fantastically well the past two years organising this whole event and I, along with everybody else, really appreciate his efforts, and I certainly don't advocate a banning like some people do, because apart from anything else no-one has technically broken forum rules, but I would strongly advocate a name and shame policy wherein people who were exceptionally late with their gifts or didn't send them at all are put in a list, possibly in the trading folder and banned from partaking in trading or anything which involves the sending of goods to other forumites, and possibly an indelible custom rank for the very worst offenders, like Vesp, Scotty(if he has no explanation of course) and LA.
There was something else I wanted to post but I forgot what it was, so watch this space. On the whole though, that's my two cents on the matter. I Ain't Even Mad.gif

I say, whoever didnt fullfil there santa thingy should be banned from taking part in any other events like this and the Mods should give them a custom title of badness or something. Failing that, we could just kill them
