Not sure if anyone's interested--though I'm personally enthralled--but the prototype cartridge of
Glover 2, sequel to the inventive platformer
Glover, has recently surfaced on NESWorld, where the editor has taken a few screenshots and videos. And I have to say, there are a few resemblances to
Banjo-Kazooie: the game looks markedly more vibrant than its forbear, and it visibly looks tighter in its controls.
I loved the platforming/free-roaming adventure-game hybrid that preponderated on the N64, and
Glover 2 certainly matches the tendency towards that genre. As mentioned before, it seems to have taken a few notes from
Banjo-Kazooie--the amount of dialogue and nature of its delivery marks a disparity with the first game--so I'm not sure if that would have undermined the title in the eyes of the critical press, given that the original scored points chiefly for its uniqueness.
Here's the link in case anyone's interested. It takes me one step closer to my crazy dreams of a
Super Mario 64 2 prototype emerging, or
Dinosaur Planet...or, er, the illusory
Timber 64.
