Sonic Youth - Sister (1987)

I'm sure most will have heard Daydream Nation, Goo and Dirty, so I thought I'd go for something a little less well known from the band. I was going to pick Confusion Is Sex, but I thought that might push a few people away as it's fairly challenging on SY virgin ears. So I chose Sister, which is a mix of the old hardcore roots and their movement into more melodic songs. Sonic Youth are one of my favourite bands, but with their dense catalogue it can be a little daunting to stray away from their three big hits, so I thought I'd give a little push.

They definitely aren't for everybody though, so will be interesting to read what people think.

I've had this downloaded for ages after discovering Sonic Youth a few years ago, but never got round to listening to Sister in full. I'll stick this in my reminders for later when I can use speakers as it'll just sound a butt load better than on headphones in work

The only Sonic Youth song I know is Kool Thing, and that's only because it was in Guitar Hero.

Wasn't a fan of that particular track, but will go into this with an open mind.

Oh, this is an easy one for me. I'm a huge Sonic Youth fan. I first saw them in 1988, for the Daydream Nation tour. Sister is my favourite album of theirs. So this gets 10/10.
