I haven't watched the post fight presser yet, but apparently Dana White has said that he thinks Edgar won the fight, and a few fans agree as well. Absolutely unbelievable, Henderson leathered him! It's sad that he is the CEO of UFC yet I have no respect for his opinion on MMA.
It was strange fight actually . At first I thought bendo won clear but after re-watching the fight and muting the commentary I can fully understand why some believe Edgar won . On all honest it should have been a draw besides that up-kick and choke Bendo didn't do anything significant , however he landed a lot jabs while Edgar had more take downs and stayed busier with body shots.
Still though it could have gone either way . Also how is Pettis no.1 contender so fast ? While Diaz has torn through the guy who was considered the no.1 contender for a while?
If Diaz beats Miller he should fight Bendo.
I disagree man, all you really have to do to see who won that fight Is look at both fighter faces! Henderson did far more damage than Edgar, was more aggressive, controlled the octagon and landed more significant shots from what I remember. He also had a few submission attempts, I don't really put a lot of emphasis on takedowns if the guy fails to keep them there for any length of time. It seemed whenever Hendo got taken down he got back up right away or pulled off a sub attempt, I don't think Edgar was ever really a major threat in the fight.
Also Pettis is probably next in line as he beat Hendo for the title in WEC, although I agree that Diaz deserves it just as much. Would be amazing if those two fought, I can't believe how stacked the lightweight division is!
