Valid criticism.

Wrong. He was basically saying that the hatred being portrayed between the two wrestlers was too realistic. In a world where kayfabe is all but dead how can anyone possibly complain when the hatred between two characters is even close to feeling as real as it does between Rock and Cena? It's mind-boggling.

Why do you take criticism of wrestling these days so strongly?

I agree with Skip in the respect that it was a bit daft saying it was too realistic. Think Wai had a point that the payoff just isn't going to match the heat going into it.

I feel strongly about dumb criticism. I have plenty of stuff I could complain about with the current product (Ziggler/Miz/Ryder being buried, the abundance of bullshit finishes Bryan has received as champ, the awful commentary) but I'd rather focus on the positives so I don't post about them much.

Instead I just criticise the criticism :shifty:

That much I agree with but it's an impossible situation really with Rock going straight after the show. Well, impossible unless Cena turns heel.

The only way they could live up to the heat (let alone the hype) is if they do an attitude era violent match but I can't see that happening. The crowd will likely ensure the match lives up to the hype I think. Rock/Hogan wasn't technically great but the crowd made it so memorable.

The IC title does need to change hands at Mania and have Cody fight to win it back though. Unless somebody actually looks like they want the title it doesn't mean anything. The IC belt has kind of just been a bit of jewellery to Rhodes as he hasn't had a decent feud with anyone for it.

Rhodes has been the IC champ for 7 months... I'd love for him to beat Honky Tonk's record.

Unless they free it up to give Cody a crack at the main event scene. I don't think Show will squash him with a single punch. I can see it being a good 8-10 minute opener.

Do we want a clean finish to the Cena/Rock match, or on this occasion do we actually want bullshit - i.e. there's something tangible coming out of the match, rather than just a pinfall & off everyone trots to plug the next PPV like it's all over & forgotten about.

The again when the WWE does leave questions we simply never get any answers anyway. And this is of course true of TNA as well.

I wouldn't mind there being a controvesial finish to the Rock/Cena match but honestly I don't think WWE will have the balls to do something like that. After hyping it as the biggest Wrestlemania match in history, I don't think they'll let it end in a DQ or something like that. I think best thing we can hope for is something of a heel turn from Cena. Maybe Rock wins...and after he offers his hand after the match (with the crowd cheering the Rock more and more) Cena snaps and attacks the Rock in a somewhat brutal fashion. An ending like that will leave us intrigued to see Raw the next night.

On the next Raw, Cena may not be on or something but Rock is and then Rock will vow revenge - setting up their rematch for Summerslam.

If there was ever a WrestleMania that needed Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler on commentary, this would be it. This is too big a show to have naff announcing on & Dusty Rhodes impersonations from Booker T.

I kind of don't really care how the match ends so long as we don't have a BS handshake. They can tease one and end it with someone getting laid out, but if they shake hands I'm done with WWE forever. You can't tease this much heat and have it resolved like that.

I tip Cena to win with Rock getting a foot on the ropes or something, then Rock laying Cena out after to send the fans home happy.

Silvervision have put The Best of WCW Clash of the Champions up on the website. For some unbeknownst reason, it's getting a Blu Ray release.

You also get 'exclusive extras' depending on what version you buy (what is this, a videogame?).

Quote:
Blu-ray Exclusive Content

'Nature Boy' Ric Flair and Barry Windham vs. Midnight Express
Clash of the Champions IV - 7th December, 1988

Sting and Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat vs. ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude and Steve Austin
Clash of the Champions XVIII - 21st January, 1992

Thunder Cage Match
Dustin Rhodes & Sting vs. Big Van Vader, Paul Orndorff and Barry Windham
Clash of the Champions XXII - 13th January, 1993

Quote:
DVD Content exclusive to the Silver Vision release and one store in America

NWA United States Tag Team Championship Match
The Midnight Express vs. The Fantastics
Clash of the Champions - March 27, 1988

WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match
Hollywood Hogan vs. Ric Flair
Clash of the Champions XXXIII - August 15, 1996

Bang out of order!

So sick of Cena just standing there with his goofy smile when someone else is talking. Anyone stands there talking on the mic and Cena's just there across the ring like :D grinning moronically. This is supposed to be one of the biggest matches of all time and Cena's standing there while Rock talks about ripping his throat out like a five year old watching a magician do balloon tricks.

Has anyone else heard the talk that we're going to get another Rock concert next week on Raw? :o (Or at least very soon). Apparently Cena will be doing a rap as well, but i don't know if this is true or not.

I think Rock Concert III was promoted in a commercial following RAW in the US. On the basis of the other two, this should be a right old laugh.

Yep and Cena rapping as well because it's in the same city as the Music Hall of Fame or something like that.
