From some reviews I've read it's meant to be a pretty good transfer though it was produced from the DVD master so has some flaws. It's still much better than the DVD version, plus they probably won't do a new master from the original negative for years so it's maybe worth picking up if you see it for a good price.

I just bought Star Trek Voyager complete series boxset DVD for £54.95 on Zavvi
I was only looking to buy seasons 1-3 because I already have 4-7 on dvd. But they were going for about a tenner each so I thought I'd might as well spend an extra £27 to get the extra box. :fp:

Will have to try and sell seasons 4-7 for £27 i guess

Is Deep Space Nine any good? the boxset is going for cheap on zavvi only £61.95 plus get £5 off with ZAV5 code
should i get it?

Thanks. I really never sat down to watch many episodes of DS9, guess I was too ignorant at the time thinking it'd be boring because its based on a space station and not a star ship.

Its a shame that they have stopped making any new Star Trek TV series after the awful Enterprise series (no shields, no tractor beams, reintroducing Klingons, Vulcans etc, warp 5 max? lol)

Just ordered the boxset now, came to £56.95 for the entire 7 season series! Now I have a whole series of ST that I have never seen to look forward too :D

Yep, Deep Space 9 is indeed vastly better than Voyager.
The characters evolve much more in DS9 and some of the vast battle episodes are amazing. A personal favourite of mine is the episode The Siege of AR-558 in which they defend an asteroid.

I just cancelled the Voyager boxset. Found out its packaged differently inside. Its just fold out cardboard cases with the dvds slotted in. Compared to the slim lime dvd boxes where the dvds are in plastic jewel cases. :fp:

Btw I tried watching Battlestar Galactica but just couldn't get into it. Another series which is praised but its no way near as good as Star Trek

Traded in a bunch of games and my DS Lite to HMV today, got the best price offered so picked up the following Blu-Rays: Batman Anthology, Band of Brothers, Menace II Society Directors Cut, Buried SE and We Were Soldiers (and Mad Men boxset on DVD). This combined with my in-home streaming from my PC to my PS3 and LoveFilm subscription means there's plenty of non-gaming diversions to be had. :D

Wow, I've never seen someone be so wrong before.

Babylon 5 is one of the greatest Sci-Fi series ever with a fantastic 5 series story and some of the most memorable characters in the genre. I will admit that the special effects have not aged brilliantly but that's a small price to pay for Sci-Fi perfection. I'm so confident you will like it that a Mod can ban me for a week if you watch it and decide you don't.

I re-watched it all recently and it was as fantastic as ever and if you don't find G'Kar one of the best characters ever you must seek medical advice as you obviously have a heart of pure stone.

That's ok then as being mean about Babylon 5 should be considered a treasonous offence.

DS9

It gets the best of both worlds - instead of a starship visiting a planet every week it's the other way round, with ships docking and bringing the story to the characters. However, you also have main characters travelling in ships, discovering new worlds etc, so the environments don't become stale.
