This. Nothing beats putting a pillow against the window and lying with your legs across all 3 seats while playing on a 3DS 8-)

They actually let you do that? :o

You might have a conversation with the person sitting next to you, but further down the plane? No. How is that going to work? You can't exactly stand around in the aisleway.

Last time I talked to a stranger on a plane, their mother had just died. strawberry floating bummed the gooseberry fool out of me the whole rest of the way. Thankfully it was just a 2 hour flight or I might have killed myself...

I wasn't asked to take my feet off. Just don't have your shoes on. Pop the arm rests up and relax if you have the space and look upon all the poor bastards in full occupied rows 8-)

That isn't a bad idea, why do you all think it is? It is supposed to be for business people clearly. For networking.

There is nothing in there saying this is aimed at business people, it's aimed at trying to get people talking and taking the tedium out of travel. Would never use it myself though, I'm far too antisocial.

It may not say it explicitly but given they talk about LinkedIn and finding people going "to the same event" as you, that's clearly part of their thinking.

I'm not saying it isn't part of the thinking behind it. I'm just arguing it's not just aimed at business folk.

Speaking as someone who has flown approximately 30,000 miles in the past 12 months, this is just about enough to make me consider travelling by boat a feasible option.

Also shame on the whole strawberry floating lot of you for nobody making a "Meet and meat" reference. Unless you did and I missed it, in which case the shame is all mine.

I remember coming back from Japan, talking to some lecturer, he was pretty interesting, although I wouldn't have gone out of my way to look for him!

Or, you could just not be on Facebook or LinkedIn - which are both much more stupid ideas.

30 Rock

But this is a brilliant idea, chatting to the guy or girl next to you is the #1 way to pass the time on a long flight! I'm always more than a little annoyed to find I'm sitting next to an anti social bastard or someone who can't speak English.

Best for business people and those who travel alone but I really hope this idea....... takes off.

8-)

This one time I was flying with KLM, and sat in the front row of economy next to this young guy in shirt/trousers. Before he took off, the pilot came out to greet him, and for the entire eight-hour flight all the stewardesses would come and talk to him, ply him with extra blankets, and generally made sure he was comfortable. Needless to say I was curious - I don't think he was a celebrity because, well, he'd be in first class, surely? He wasn't in uniform, so not a trainee or anything either.

They all spoke bloody Dutch to each other. To this day I have no idea who he was or why he was special.

Bloody KLM.
