I have so little time in the mornings. I'll make sure to have a bowl of cereal along with a glass of fruit juice, and have a slice of toast with black cherry jam when I reach work. I didn't used to have breakfast at all until about 7 months ago, but when I decided to lose weight I forced myself to have something.

Starbucks do an all day breakfast panini that looks quite tempting. I've debated trying to put together my own cooked breakfast wrap, but so far, the extra time in bed has won out over the breakfast.

Why not make the stuff the night before and just reheat it? I sincerely doubt Starbucks is freshly made. Also, if your trying to lose weight, anything from there is a bad idea  .

My housemate always used to have toast, with gooseberry fool loads of butter, then slapped on a bunch of marmite to create this vile looking toast toilet roll sheet with mess all over it. Ugh.

Just had lunch. Mushrooms on toast. Never had it before, but there were loads of mushrooms left over so thought I'd give it a bash. Olive oil in a pan, shallots, chopped up mushrooms, garlic slices, thyme then some truffle oil at the end on top of some nice Waitrose bakery bread.

Would have again. Now my mouth tastes of garlic

I made a delicious teriyaki salmon last night.

Salmon fillets, marinated in honey, soy sauce, sherry and garlic for an hour. Longer would have been better but I was hungry.

Fried for a few minutes on both sides, and served with basmati rice with toasted sesame seeds in it (lush!) and asparagus, blanced then sauteed in sesame and vegetable oil.

The marinade was reduced for a minute at the end and poured over the top.

For an easy meal, it had a real feeling of quality about it. The salmon was insanely good.

I like doing salmon under a grill. Cook it skin side up first so it goes really nice and crispy  .

Not sure what to have tonight. Something quick and easy. I'm trying to make room in the fridge as our second fridge broke, so everything is in one now. There are some open Patack pastes, but I don't overly like them. Hmmm.

Also a question, when people buy coriander, do you notice it goes black and slimy after about a day? :x

and another question. Say I want to put some cauliflower in a curry, do I have to cook it first, or can I put it into the curry whilst it's simmering?

Used the patack curry paste left over my fridge. Shoved some onion, garlic, chilli, coriander, squash, sweet potato, chickpeas, cauliflower, spinach, tinned tomatoes into it. Came out rather nice actually.

Yeah? Looks pretty nice, I'll give it a shot.

Didn't use enough chicken in the recipe but it still tasted nice.

I think it's brill that you put the effort in on these nice meals just for yourself. I live with my GF and it's always a job cooking from scratch - although we've been a lot better at it lately.

I've got a picture in my head of a typical bachelor pad just filled with empty pot Noodle pots

You can chop it up, put in a box and then freeze it, when you want to use it just sprinkle some on from frozen.
