I can't understand how that even works. Did you do that like you would do a bread crumbed chicken breast? Didn't the crisps just go soggy?

I've done chicken breasts in crumbs made from cream crackers before. Prefer breadcrumbs though.

My last housemate was French, she's working in Paris now and regularly sends packages of saucisson, cheese, and wine. Love her so much for that, good cheese is almost impossible to find in Japan <3

Now that my phone is playing nice, here's a picture of the gnocchi with the crab-based sauce and some freshly grated parmesan:

Supposedly according to one of my fellow foodie bloggers the Cheetos were supposed to give a nice crunchy exterior (like breadcrumbs) when baked. They more just made the chicken greasy and just not very nice - I would advise against.

In other news on my site this week I've reviewed the new Phildelphia with Cadbury Chocolate - the review is HERE if you want to read it.

Chocolate Cheese cake?

I personally wouldn't use the term paste-like in a positive fashion when describing any sort of food. Paste-like is an instant negative for me.

'twas my brothers birthday today so we made a delish meal.

First was bruschetta with 3 different topping to choose from. 1 was classic tomato, basil, onion. The others were a green olive and lemon tapenade, and the other was chargrilled aubergine mixed into a mint, red wine vinegar and olive oil dressing with chilli flakes. All were delicious.

Then after a long break as we stuffed ourselves, we had rib eye steak. I chose to have mine with parsley, garlic and E.V olive oil on it. With a side salad with a balsamic and lemon dressing. Mushrooms and my dads chips he makes in the fryer.

Then pudding his gf made a key lime pie. Very bad for you, but very nice  .

Stuffed, so settled my stomach with an espresso and strega.

To anyone considering the Boneless Pork Ribs from Domino's, don't. They are strawberry floating awful. Like, completely inedible. You know, I'm sure the fat is from a pig, & therefore technically 'pork', but these were a new level of horrendous.

It was incredibly rich. I usually eat a lot of food but I barely finished that small bowl.

Guacamole? But yeah, even then I'd describe it as a paste rather than paste-like.

They're incredible, so strawberry floating addictive. His mum and (very attractive) sister is coming over to visit him at the end of the month and they're bringing over more for him/us, so I can't wait.

French people/food.

So as a discussion, I wanted to ask how many of us buy Fairtrade food products.

The common options being Fruit, Vegetables, Chocolate, Tea and Coffee.

Are you willing to pay an extra few pennies to support the project? Is there a noticeable difference in quality of their fruit/veg? If so, is it better or worse?

Absolutely  I'd never really been into cheese until I started living with a French guy. Now I'm completely addicted. (The same guy got me into good Alsatian white wines, which for some reason are easier to find here than good cheese.)

By complete coincidence, I saw tiny little sampler packets of Fairtrade coffee at a restaurant yesterday. It was literally the first time I had ever seen Fairtrade anything in Japan. Fairtrade isn't really a thing here.

I don't give a gooseberry fool tbh. Money is tight enough at the moment without worrying about some farmer in Russia getting an extra penny on a kg of coffee.

I heard fair trade is inferior quality as the price is fixed. The farmers can sell their poor goods off at a fixed price and let markets decide the price of the good quality stuff. TBH I don't care too much, I wouldn't pay extra to go fair trade.

I read it's a bit of a con ethically anyway - because the farmers who can't afford to join the scheme all get dicked over. cba to find the link.

I don't go out of my way to buy it but I'm quite gulliable so I tend to feel better about myself if I get a fairtrade Kit Kat. I wouldn't be able to tell a difference in taste/quality tbf.

Fairtrade? I don't specifically look out for stuff like that. I just get what I can afford tbh and I don't feel guilty about it. If what I get is fairtrade then that's fine by me.
