I went on XBL dashboard and there was an offer of 2 months XBL for £2. Might do that so I can get netflix without paying £30+ for XBL that I don't use enough. Should get a bit of viewing done in 2 months, assuming Breaking Bad is on soon.

Eh? They are fine for me. But yeah, yellow is pretty bad.

EDIT: I googled shutter-scrolling closed captioned and it turns up nothing in the results?

It's just a make up set of words because I don't know the right words to describe it.

As you know, the subtitles are limited to two lines as industry standard. Usually the two lines are replaced by one or two new lines of dialogue. But the film I was watching moves the bottom line of subtitles to the top, with the new line appear below. Gives an impression that it was pushed up in a blink. Hence the "shutter-scrolling" terms.

It's very annoying and takes fairly a while to get used to, especially in a fast talking film. I was hardwired to read the subtitles from the top, and it was a bit disjarring to read the same piece of dialogue/subtitles that was on a few seconds ago.

I've found another film that does this: The Human Centipede: First Sequence. It was pretty bad for the opening 30 minutes.

oh right.. I know what you mean as that usually used for live closed captions in the US. Not seen it in films. It just usually as you say two or 3 lines of text.

Question. I did my free trial a while ago and it ended. Is it possible for someone else in the same household to do a free trial?

AFAIK the trials are based on credit card numbers. So, if the person in question has their own credit/debit card, I can't think why not.

Check with your card provider. They might be blocking it for some reason.

Weird. I went to netflix site to try using someone else's card. I used my email again, and it came up with my already used card details. It said once I press continue, my free trial will start, even though I already have done one using those details. Any ideas?

If I can get it for free for a month, why would I pay?

Because it's less hassle than signing up for free trials again and again and it's £6 a month, don't be so tight

The only reason I'd be doing it is because it's free. Not spending money just to have some stuff on in the background.

It's £6 you tightarse. That's 2 pints nowadays and that would be a cheap pub.

Don't give a gooseberry fool. I have very little money. Not going to spend it so I can watch a couple of tv shows in the background. Once I get a job, yeah, but right now, no. Sorry I don't have money like you :?

It wasn't anything in particular I wanted to watch. Watched everything I wanted to when I had it last time. I just saw the offer for XBL for £2 for 2 months so thought i'd do it, as I'm not gonna spend £30 on it as I don't play online/at all anymore. I didn't realise it was such a big deal to people  . Oh well.

Tis a bit of a trivial problem you have to admit, for someone with disposable cash like me.
