Nah, didn't like this at all. Musically it sounded a bit like something your mate's mate's band knocked up. A couple of songs, notably the opener were OK, but they were nearly all murdered by one of the worst vocalists I've ever heard. Seriously, track 8 'Lonesome No More!', what the strawberry float! It's two tones nearly all of the way through, and both of them are flat! Sorry Spinny.

After reading MHTL's post I went in expecting an abomination but I ended up quite liking it. I would agree that the vocalist isn't particularly good but I was able to look past that and enjoy the album more on an instrumental level.

Not my cup of tea. It wasn't terrible but all of the tracks sounded very similar and the singers is a bit screechy and annoying. 5/10

I just don't think I can appreciate this sort of music to be honest. I try to not immediately dump it in the 'generic indie music' category which I guess is another way of saying it is naff, but after a run through or two, that's where it firmly resides for me. All I hear is dull vocals and melodies, nothing catchy either. Guess I just can't understand it

Kent: Röd - 7/10

This seems like quite a deep album, can see myself liking it even more on repeated listens.

Bran Van 3000 - Glee

Actually listened to this ages ago but forgot to post a review I wasn't a big fan, there were one or two tracks that were enjoyable but on the whole I found it a bit boring. 5/10

I'm going to listen to the other albums I've missed at some point today I hope.

Listening to my backlog now. First up: The Oh Sees.

EDIT: Thee Oh Sees - Help: 5/10. Sorry OS, I didn't dislike the album but there was just something about it that stopped me from really enjoying it. Not bad, but probably wouldn't listen again.

They aren't to everyone's taste and if they were I'd probably hate them.

The Longcut -A Call and Response. 6/10. Yeah, it was ok. Only one track struck me as I was listening to it (The Kiss Off). At no point did I think "strawberry float me that is amazing I'm going to rewind that bit and crank up the volume". Overall it came across a bit 80's indie/goth lite. No harm in that though. I will probably keep it on my iPod but I doubt I'd listen to the whole album again.
