Four tracks in and I can confirm that it isn't really my thing. A bit too nice for me. Too clean, clinical and precise. Its all a little bit Ikea with some Volvo thrown in.

I'll listen to the rest of it and maybe something will surprise me.

I can appreciate that, especially when I think back to your choice which was almost the polar opposite in terms of production. They are a very clinical band, no sound out of place, glossy production values. I can totally see how that can put some people off.

I think it must have been a good 4 years ago at least. A few of their tracks kept popping up on Pandora so I then just listened to whatever I could get hold of. Didn't continue to listen to them as I moved into more industrial-esque music.

So, 7.5 average. Does that mean I win?

Well, hold your horses there chief. I'm going to score it. I was all set for giving it a 5 but I can only give it a 3.

I can't listen to this all the way through. If I could have stuck with it to the end it would have gotten 5, but when track 5 started (Sjukhus) I thought "oh, they have covered a Spiritualized song, I'll see what they do with it", but then I realised they hadn't covered a Spiritualized song, just totally ripped them off. That one song has taken elements from just about every song on "Let it Come Down". I couldn't listen to it after that.

An ice cold 3/10

Just couldn't really get into it. Perhaps it was the Swedish vocals, I don't know. I liked 'Vals för Satan (Din vän pessimisten)' though.

The Futureheads: 7/10
Not as good as I remember it being if I'm honest, but still great.

It was going so well too! Ah well, you can't please everyone. Not sure I can see the Spiritualized comparison myself, but it's interesting to hear nonetheless. Don't worry, I won't hold it against you.

By the way, Spinny, I've just listened to the Oh Sees record again, and realised I've overscored it. Can you change my score to a 0 please.

It's been three weeks now Maybe if people were asked to pick an album weeks in advance and assigned a date to do so then we could queue up several people in advance and there wouldn't be such a long wait. Would also give people longer to choose an album Thread would be less maintenance for Spindash and more active for everyone..

Right then. As you can see, I've had a quick go at updating the OP. Firstly, all the scores should be up to date now, if you can see any errors, let me know. I've also changed all the Christmas names back to the regular ones (this was a pain!) and added a couple of people who had contributed but weren't yet in the list.

Probably the biggest change I've made is introducing a colour-coded reference so everyone can tell which albums they've rated and reviewed. Whilst hopefully being a handy guide to those who want to go back and revisit any they'd missed, my main reason for doing this is for a change in selection process. What I'm going to do is pick a new choice every week, but the people who have contributed the most will be the first ones selected. Hopefully this will mean an increase in activity in the thread, after all, we all signed up to show off our music really, right?

Anyways, it's all done now, so we should get back to the job at hand. Any questions or suggestions just let me know. Hopefully everyone will be happy with the changes.
