Robson is doing great in the Championship and has 9 goals so far this season.

We would probably have took up the years' option on his contract if we had had the money to do so.

Arguably, he is one of the few players in our team who could be PL standard.

He will do great in the MLS, I feel, if he can keep himself motivated.

Robson's going to the Whitecaps? Is that real?

We should never have sold him. :x

It is true, he has signed a pre-contract.

We had an option to add another year in the summer but we declined, presumably because he is one of our high-earners and he is 32. Plus we have Nicky Bailey and Rhys Williams in midfield, and both are considerably younger.

Both are *arguably* better as well, or will at least develop into better players. Though both need to add goal-scoring to their game. Robson has probably scored nearly 25 goals in his two and a half seasons here.

EDIT - Make that 17 goals in 78 appearances.

Really good display from Arsenal tonight, just a shame they didn't make it through in the end :(

Several papers are saying that Pogba has definitely agreed to join Juventus and now finds himself training with the reserves.

Not great that we are losing two of our most promising youngsters in quick succession. This suggests something is not quite right behind the scenes.

Unlucky from Arsenal tonight, but they shouldn't have let themselves get dominated so much in Milan, and AC had their chances tonight as well. I know I probably shouldn't judge from the telly, but the Emirates sounded pretty poor again tonight, considering how close they were to such an incredible comeback. I heard a few "Oh the Arsenal we do"s, but no real eruption from the crowd to spur the players on, it should have been absolutely deafening in there for the last 15 mins, but the game and the atmosphere seemed to die down a bit.

Really sounded pretty lively on my stream.

Maybe in terms of the average Premier League/Arsenal game, but I think if most other clubs in the competition were in a similar situation the atmosphere would have been incredible, at times you could hear the Milan fans better than the home fans. If there is any club in England that could benefit from an Ultras group it's Arsenal, they have such a good stadium with a huge crowd, imagine if they had half the atmosphere of a team like Dortmund - I honestly think they would be a force to reckon with.

Being a arsenal fan I'd hope that an ultra group doesn't happen as you will probably find that would go for most fans also they would all get kicked out of the stadium by the stewards as most of the time you get told to sit down.

On the subject of The Whitecaps... where's the best place to get a jersey in the UK? I have football-mad family in Victoria who have been going on about them now for a couple of years and I find myself looking out for their results... figured I might get a shirt, just for something different.

There's a website advertised on fox soccernet's shows all the time, I can't remember it's name but it is an American website. It will deliver to the UK though. Other than that, eBay or the club's official website might be your best shout, but that'll be super-expensive. I've been trying to get a Seattle Sounders top on the cheap for years.

Different scenarios for both but equally disappointing.

Morrison is just a young hoodlum who needed to get out of Manchester for his own good. Pogba is basically being given some poor advice by his agent - who is only interested in fees for himself. Like i said disappointing but not really indicative of any malaise behind the scenes.

Pogba I believe has hired Mino Raiola as his agent (same agent for Zlatan and Balotelli) he is a money sucking whore who will come and knock for contract renewal at every end of the season. I do not think he gives good advice to his players, apart from follow the money

How likely is it he'll get into Juve's first team? Because that's what this is apparently all about, him not getting first team opportunities at Manchester United.

And just to further underline the point: I take it as a good sign that they haven't given into his demands. Yeah it stings like a bastard that United are losing another talented youngster, but had they given into his demands it would have just caused further problems down the line, both with Pogba and other players and agents. And what does it say of Pogba when he's not willing to work for his place or earn his money?
All the best to him at Juve.

Teenager earns United deal
Norwegian youngster is very highly regarded at Old Trafford

Manchester United have handed teenager Mats Daehli the perfect birthday present - a professional contract at the club.

The Red Devils beat off competition from Bayern Munich, Ajax and a number of Premier League clubs to capture Daehli to sign him from Norwegian side Lyn.

The 17-year-old has impressed the coaches at Carrington enough to be rewarded with a new deal with the champions.

"He signed the contract on his birthday today," his agent Jim Solbakken confirmed to VG.

"He said it felt terrific and there are no doubts he deserved it."

Ole's seen him and thinks he's spesh (as do those who watch youth/reserves).

That's all I need to know.

Shame about Pogba but it was going to happen eventually with the way he's being handled by his sleezy little agent. I'm glad we didn't give in though. I'm sick of these young players who've not proved anything demanding the world. I'd rather we don't get held to ransom than keep these little gooseberry fools.
