It's the Mirror.

Still, interesting if true. Would love to see the return of Mourinho. Even if he can be a bit of a jackass, he just makes the league more interesting by being there.

I've gotta say the media over here have quite an obsession with Mourinho. In Spain and Italy they were almost so-so about him but over here they love him and can't wait for him to come 'home' almost to the point that they think he's 'ours'.

I agree. Back page no doubt, but front page? I don't think so. Especially as it's just speculation at the end of the day. Personally despite the speculation i think he'll stay at Madrid one more year.

German striker Lukas Podolski is close to joining Arsenal from Cologne. The 26-year-old has apparently already agreed personal terms with Arsenal, although the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

Surely he has been tapped up then?

They might have given them permission to talk to him, a fee doesn't need to be agreed in order for permission to be given.

Why do that though? There is no rush to get the deal done and you'd have to think him agreeing terms with Arsenal just weakens Colognes position when it comes to negotiating a transfer fee.

Looking forward to the Northern Ireland game against Norway tomorrow night. It's also nice to have Hughes back in the squad

Podolski only turns it on for the national side, he's been (relatively) gooseberry fool for the domestic teams he's played for.

Same applies on Football Manager :shifty:

Nah, he's been pretty good for Koln, just couldn't do it for Bayern for whatever reason. Think he'll be great in the Prem.

According to Honigstein at the Guardian he was homesick at Bayern so his form suffered. Moving to a different country should be no problem then.

I know it's not real! I preferred the ball hitting guy with ice cream gif, but I like how kid at final poking his eye is mashed with something else that happened at the game.

Arsenal on alert as Holland consider Robin van Persie despite injury

• Arsenal striker sits out session due to groin problem
• Van Marwijk still keen to use striker against England

The Holland manager Bert van Marwijk has confirmed he is considering picking Arsenal's Robin van Persie for Wednesday night's friendly against England, despite the forward having withdrawn from their latest training session with a groin injury.

I just noticed Craig Gordon is in the Scotland squad. I don't think he's played a competitive game in about a year.

I really hope he finds his fitness again and gets back to regular football. I know he's played a couple of reserve games recently but from the reports I've read he has been playing through he pain barrier in those instances and still isn't pain free with his injury. I'm not sure Martin is prepared to play him for Sunderland just yet.

I think Gordon is a quality keeper, definitely our best keeper and I can't stress how much I hope Flash signs a new contract if he gets back to fitness. I like Mignolet as a prospect but I don't think he's number 1 material yet, and Westwood has looked good in the few games he's had so it's a shame he's injured as well right now. It sort of reminds me of the Fraizer Campbell situation - I hate to say I was a little doubtful he would play for Sunderland again after the 18 months, I suspected he'd go on loan to a Championship club or something and never make it back. Delighted that wasn't the case.

Gordon's been far too injury prone in his time with us, for the money we spent and he's cost in terms of his contract and his renewal terms, I think we'll let him go when it runs out, 3 international keepers is a stupid situation to be in as one will leave sooner or later anyway.
