City fans mocking Pompeys plight  How much of a loss did City post for 2011? Did it top 2010s 11.8 Million?

Not many teams are living within their means. We have a rich owner that is not likely to walk out on the club any time soon. We will claw money back through the deal with Sainsburys and the new stadium will bring money in.

And League One football is not a certainty. We are in trouble but still have our heads above water. Luckily we are not paying players £30k a week while being in administration for the second time.

And so did we at the end of last season (and a team challenging for consecutive play-offs). But a bad decision in the close season by the owner regarding a change of manager, then withdrawal of further funding whilst looking for a buyer and topped off with his untimely death shows that things change. I don't think there's a Forest fan on earth who would have seen our current predicament in July.

The Pompey fan started it. I wouldn't mock any club (even the dirty Gas side of Bristol) for going into admin, unless a fan of the financially ruined club starts mocking other clubs spending plans.

Yeah we made a loss, but the loss is covered. If Lansdown ever walks away (highly unlikely at the moment) then we could be in trouble, just like most other clubs out there.

I'm not mocking - I'm just suggesting its reckless - which it is. Its easy to point at people in the mire without looking the failings all around football at the same time. If anything I'm more entitled to suggest clubs are making mistakes as I've seen them all made by my own club and can now see a lot of the warning signs a mile off!

To be fair, a £90 million stadium to be built with the potential for relegation is a risk no matter what way you look at it, since if you can't fill it, then how do you get the money back?

Considering relegation generally sees a dip in attendances, less income from TV and such, you only have to look at teams like Darlington to see what a potential noose around the neck it is...

Nothing worse than seeing a brand new stadium with no-one in it...

I wouldn't say anything if it were a project like that new Hull stadium, or the Ricoh Arena - affordable sensible projects. Hull's stadium was £25milliomn, which is a lot more reasonable then £90million! Portsmouth got into all the trouble WITHOUT building a new stadium, imagine what trouble someone could potentially get into if they DID!

Ricoh affordable and sensible?

Nah, that's one of the reasons why Cov are just as strawberry floated, having to rent it from the council and being unable to pay off the rent due to a lack of crowds...

Pig has finally left United, gone on loan to Watford for the rest of the season.

Also Wolves want Brian McDermott as their next manager :shifty:

A while back I posted here about my free 'world cup singles/worldy/cuppy/singles/wembley' online multiplayer footy game for the PC that I was making.
Well, just a quick note to say I've recently released a big update to the game which should make it a lot easier for people to play, host your own games, find your mates' game etc.
I'd be really grateful to those who would check it out and give it a go. More info in the opening post in the thread in 'general games' here:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=28274

or check out the website for info and to download the game:
http://thebeautifulgame-thegame.com

thanks,

Ram

Neither do I now, I was going to post a speech about how players get greedy and lose their focus in life..but then I can't be arsed now.
