I just noticed Craig Gordon is in the Scotland squad.

I don't think he's played a competitive game in about a year.
I really hope he finds his fitness again and gets back to regular football. I know he's played a couple of reserve games recently but from the reports I've read he has been playing through he pain barrier in those instances and still isn't pain free with his injury. I'm not sure Martin is prepared to play him for Sunderland just yet.
I think Gordon is a quality keeper, definitely our best keeper and I can't stress how much I hope Flash signs a new contract if he gets back to fitness. I like Mignolet as a prospect but I don't think he's number 1 material yet, and Westwood has looked good in the few games he's had so it's a shame he's injured as well right now. It sort of reminds me of the Fraizer Campbell situation - I hate to say I was a little doubtful he would play for Sunderland again after the 18 months, I suspected he'd go on loan to a Championship club or something and never make it back. Delighted that wasn't the case.
Gordon's been far too injury prone in his time with us, for the money we spent and he's cost in terms of his contract and his renewal terms, I think we'll let him go when it runs out, 3 international keepers is a stupid situation to be in as one will leave sooner or later anyway.
