How many books are there? I just finished the 2nd one. It is pretty good, but some chapters go to boring characters which is annoying.

There are five volumes so far, with two planned.

Bear in mind that the third volume is split into two books (but you can still buy that volume whole as well), and by what I can see with Amazon.co.uk that the publishers will also split the fifth volume into two books for its paperback form.

I still haven't got any further with the fifth volume. Been too busy to read it any further. :(

Catelyn being a bit harsh on Brienne? For some reason though I have a feeling that will not be the last we see of the massive Dyke. Cersei's plan backfired, I knew Osney would strawberry float it up, but my question is, who has Margery actually slept with? Are some of the rumours true, or has little Tommen matured faster than we thought, the latter seems doubtful though.


That's the most exciting stuff that's happened though. (End of GoT/CoK spoilers)
I'm looking forward to a Dance of Dragons, just because of the name, I hope to finally see Dannie's dragons come into action

Nearly 600 pages read of A Clash of Kings. Totally engrossed in the universe now, was up till 2 in the morning last night reading it. :lol: Love how more political it all is, making Tyrion such a big (lol) part of things was genius, although my gut feeling is something is going to go bad for him soon. Bit sick of Bran's chapters atm, seems to be going nowhere and it's not as fun as say reading about Tyrion, Jon or even Sansa.

Also Renly :( Where are the hints about his sexuality then? It's been shown in the tv show obviously, but bare the fact he seemed close to that Lord of Flowers or whatever hes called, I didn't notice anything. Or has it not been mentioned yet?

Not liking Theon's side of things either. He's become a weird charcater now and the Greyjoy's are starting to rival the Lannisters :x

About Renly, it's not mentioned much but there are definate hints in what other characters say about him.

and Theon, just wait until the later books, things don't go too well for him

And finished. Really enjoyed that. Can't wait for the next season of the tv show now. Thoughts:

Hope Tyrion isn't reduced to a side role now that he's injured and his dad is back in King's Landing, he's too good a character to be left out of the game.
Hope Theon and the Greyjoy's get what's coming too them. Especially Theon, what a twat he's turned out to be. Hopefully Robb teaches him a lesson.
Bit annoyed about what happened to Stannis, hopefully the next book goes into it in more detail. I've started reading it and it's got a note at the front saying how it runs parallel to the last book to begin with. Why did Stannis lose btw? Was it because he sent his witch away?
So I'm guessing there is some sort of hidden in the background prophecy to Danny? And maybe Jon as well? Jaime hinted that things with Jon aren't what they seem and so did that Wildling he let go. Can't wait to get to Jon's chapter, he is by far the main reason things on the North remain so interesting and the added mystery to his parentage only add to that.


Is the next season of the tv show just contained to the 2nd book, or will it have bits of ASoS part 1 in it? Going to try and read it by this weekend anyway.

I just thought that because parts of ASoS run parallel to ACoK that might include those bits in the tv show to save going back over them in the next season.

I think it'll follow more of Robb's story personally, as in ACoK the books there are no POV characters near him for large parts of the book so you only hear small parts of his story.

Well... A Dance With Dragons finished.

I've spent the past five months reading them all, and I am strawberry floating lost. I can hope that George R.R. Martin will bring the next book soon enough. :lol:
