i know that its an old film, and the problems they had with the actual sabers breaking when hitting each other and the effects used in the fight were limited...
BUT
in my starwars fan boy head its because both are quite old, i doubt obi wan was keeping up with saber skills on tatooine, vader just runs about intimidating poor imperial navy officers and probably doesn't give a strawberry float about old school sabering. neither use the force because both match each other so whats the point.
