Massive innings for KP and Morgan (and maybe Bell) today. I'm going for 225 all out.

Bell's dismissal was appalling, I can see him being dropped for the next lot of tests (unless there is an option to get in some county batting practise). He's completely out of nick. Morgan actually played reasonably well until he was out.

England will be all out for sub 180 and will lose by 200 or so. That's not test cricket, it's 3-0 drubbing of a one trick team by a promising test side. The only 'match' is in 'mis-match'.

Things weren't quite as grim as you thought. Those last two innings looked like proper cricket scores.

That said, I don't want to stand in the way of an Englishman and glum feelings about his national team. It suits you all far better than the triumphalism of recent times.

   :?

It's just one series after a 2 month lay off. Wait till we go to Sri Lanka and India before casting them onto the scrap heap.

I'm a big fan of England's excuses whenever they lose at something, or under-perform.

"There's too many matches, no rest"

"Cabin fever" (whilst in a 5 star hotel, with full access to all the facilities, and games consoles for everyone)

"There's not enough matches"

"We've had a long break and were under prepared"

In all fairness, I can understand some of them. I know that in situations for the Lions, in some countries they're barely allowed to leave the hotel much... In countries like Bangladesh they spend the vast majority of the time stuck indoors, and away from families for months on end. As much as I know they're paid a decent amount for it (although not that much...), it really can't be easy stuck in a hotel which isn't always 5 star as far as teams like the Lions are concerned for most of the waking day, with food that isn't always that spot on

This is pretty much true though. They've not played a test match since the India series (and that wasn't the strict test it was expected to be). They should have played more warm up games but there isn't really the infrastructure in the UAE to afford them that opportunity (i.e. its not like touring in Australia where they can set up a few games against shield teams). If they can make a better fist of it in Sri Lanka then maybe they'll live up to their billing as the top test team.

They must have felt left out with eng getting all the attention for their dire batting.

To be fair there are plenty overs left for Pakistan to win here.

I think this new rule about no runners is absolutely daft. Such a load of nonsense. How dare the ICC deprive the cricket fans of comedic run outs whenever a runner is present.
