Anyone got any experience with the asus transformer or prime? I won an iPad 2 but find the os too limiting, and I don't really like how the keyboard or text boxes work, things like that. I much prefer my desire s. it just seems like a supremely deliberately retarded device basically. I don't see the point of the home screens without widgets.
Safari is really fast though.
I want to sell it to get a transformer prime, only thing I'm concerned about is range of apps available.
I've got the original Transformer. It has it's pros and cons
Pros
Decent battery life (I get about 8 hours, more if I remember to charge the keyboard dock
Keyboard dock - it's not essential but gives you extra battery life plus handy for writing longer emails, forums posts etc
Android ICS (just updated today) is amazing and seems to have fixed the occasional web browser crash I've experienced
Asus seem to be really good at updating Android
Mine even fixed itself after I wrecked the screen (though this probably isn't an actual feature)
Cons
Not the most attractive of tablets compared to the ultra thin tablets out right now
Apps might be somewhat lacking (not an issue for me but then I don't tend to download loads anyway
I've had mine since August and I have barely touched my computer since. And having used the iPad and iPad 2 I'd go with the Transformer every time.
I am considering selling mine but only because I want the new Prime
