Cool. I've barely scratched the surface of the app store yet but don't want to waste too much money in case i sell it. If the transformer prime is decent then I'm all over that, and I can wait for app support. What I ideally can't wait for is selling the iPad cos when the new one is announced the second hand price will go down and it will be more difficult spending the jump to the transformer's higher RRP.

Have you used Evernote? That's the most important app for me as a I do a lot of uni research in it.

You cant even clip web pages in the iPad version.

Yes, there is a tablet optimised version of Evernote. Works a charm.

The interface looks better for android. There is so much focus on simplicity and eye candy in iPad that its so frustrating when it just doesn't work in a way that makes sense to me.

Passing stuff between apps is crap because there is no default Send to / open with list on iPad. So I can't share a web page in safari with Evernote and similar things.

I've been reading the Apple thread too much; I keep wondering why Massimo hasn't chimed in to defend Apple at all costs as a result of this anti-iPad 2 talk.

Blast Monkeys update came out yesterday. Best game ever. 8-)

It's just doesn't work for me. The arrogance of saying I will just go back to iPad :fp: I chose an android phone for a reason, and I didn't chose to buy the iPad either.

Anyone got any experience with the asus transformer or prime? I won an iPad 2 but find the os too limiting, and I don't really like how the keyboard or text boxes work, things like that. I much prefer my desire s. it just seems like a supremely deliberately retarded device basically. I don't see the point of the home screens without widgets.

Safari is really fast though.

I want to sell it to get a transformer prime, only thing I'm concerned about is range of apps available.

I've got the original Transformer. It has it's pros and cons

Pros
Decent battery life (I get about 8 hours, more if I remember to charge the keyboard dock
Keyboard dock - it's not essential but gives you extra battery life plus handy for writing longer emails, forums posts etc
Android ICS (just updated today) is amazing and seems to have fixed the occasional web browser crash I've experienced
Asus seem to be really good at updating Android
Mine even fixed itself after I wrecked the screen (though this probably isn't an actual feature)

Cons
Not the most attractive of tablets compared to the ultra thin tablets out right now
Apps might be somewhat lacking (not an issue for me but then I don't tend to download loads anyway

I've had mine since August and I have barely touched my computer since. And having used the iPad and iPad 2 I'd go with the Transformer every time.

I am considering selling mine but only because I want the new Prime

Cheers. The prime looks better than the iPad IMO.

I'm not bothered about app availability as I get on fine with my phone. I just need a few key apps typical in geek circle like Evernote, dropbox, keepass, decent browser, decent calendar, gmail etc.

I also want swype and keyboard.

Basically NetBook type things. I want to leave my MacBook at home for when I need to do do serious stuff like RAW processing or HD editing and just do research and web stuff more casually on a tablet.

I have an eee pc but xp is slow and bloated for menial tasks and the keyboard and screens are just a bit too small.

The transformer is the logical combine of devices. Also tablets make great presentation and sharing devices.

All of those apps are better on Android than their iOS equivalents, especially Keepass when there isn't an iOS equivalent!

Android Dropbox is awesome, just got an update where it can auto-upload photos you take much like Google+ instant upload.

Cool. It makes sense. All the open source and geeky tools are going to find a home on Android, and the open framework allows for speedier updates and more interesting mods like keyboards, home screens etc. If the tools I want to use are actually better then it's a no-brainer.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get an Asus Prime now. I just need to shift the iPad 2 at a reasonable price, as I spent £50 on a decent case and screen protector for it already (Otterbox Reflex and MediaDevil Magic Invisible).

Is there any way to scroll frames on Android devices? On iOS you use two fingers instead of one but there doesn't seem to be any alternative that I can find for Android. Its a pain on GR for instanse when quoting a long post, it makes it impossible to insert your post at the bottom of the quoted one because you can't scroll down to it.

Went for a galaxy SII, what a step up, and with my old phone traded in came to a pretty reasonable £250. Everything is all smooth!

You can't. The closest you can get is to tap in the frame and bring up the cursor, then drag that down to the bottom of the frame to slowly scroll down while the cursor spazzes out. I just use Tapatalk for GRCade on Android.

This is fantastic. It's currently digging through all my all photos and uploading all 500 of them. :D

Shame the camera on the Desire is such an abomination as I use it quite a lot. Genuinely worse than the iPhone 3G camera despite being 5MP.

Google+ has done exactly the same job for ages, except without any storage limit and a much better online viewer. Can't hurt to have a choice though, and it does give you an extra 500MB of storage just for trying it out.

I always wonder with the rate at which Samsung pumps out these products, how can they ever be as good as those from other companies where they only have 1 tablet offering and much more time/resource to devote to development?
