Bleach anime being cancelled = good riddance to bad rubbish.

Now if One Piece could take a break from making new episodes (rather than just producing filler) for a few months, we could get the episodes going at a pace faster than 1 chapter = 1 episode.

They won't take a break with One Piece, but they should do filler arcs between canon arcs so the pace can improve. I don't know why they don't, as I'd say the One Piece anime is definitely harder to watch than the Bleach and Naruto adaptations. Doesn't help that the War and Fish Man arcs weren't the best either and stuffing them full of fart jokes and stare downs isn't making them any better. I think the quality of One Piece started to go down when the author had a child, but the new arc is good so far.

Can't believe I was 14 when I started watching/reading all these shows, I feel I have to see them through to the end now even though I don't really care what happens in any of them anymore.

I heard of a forum/website that specializes in, um, good upload website sources for anime. :shifty:
Any chance someone could remind me the name? I'm looking for Tekkonkinkreet with English subtitles.

That link wants to install malware. I suggest you remove it.

I'll, um, check the OP :shifty: Sorry.

Huh, guess noscript is working better than I thought! Lucky for me I guess.

That's huge, I never download movies bigger than 1.4GB. But thanks.

How can you tell if the anime is subtitled or dubbed? I'll have a look myself on filestube.

Well the movie I linked to was a 720 rip of the BluRay so it's going to be fairly large. I only know it's english because it mentions the encoders name, Thora, who I know to be a reputable english subber of dvd/bd releases.

Most other cases I just type in "name of anime/film", "english" and "ddl" into google and go browsing. Anidb also has a useful section in for showing which groups sub a series film into english/french/whatever on each page as well.

Download links get targeted more than torrent links so they're harder to come by but you do have a slight improvment on anonymity.

Excellent chapter of One Piece this week. :D

Anyone seen Eureka Seven anime? I'm really struggling to get into it, I think I'm episode 10 atm and it's just so slow with nothing happening, with a whiny main character. It feels like it could be filler.

It does get better but there is a fair bit of whine from all characters. As daunting as it may seem, I seem to recall episode 25 is the major turning point/impressive plot device.

I've never been able to rewatch it though due to the 3 kids in it so I can hardly be entirely objective myself!

FPS, might be able to offer better advice!

And One Piece was pretty damn good.

I like how that's become a secret code now.

Anyway, on a whim I randomly started a new manga series today called Arpeggio of the Blue Steel. Essentially it revolves around futuristic naval warfare. After various advances in engineering technology for naval ships, a mysterious fleet of adavnced ships has appeared and decimated the world's fleets. 17 years after this first starts, it follows the story of a captain who commands a ship commandeered from this mysterious "Fleet of the Fog".

Basically, it has various boats using lots of torpedos and tactics to blow each other up.

Might give that a go too.

I've been randomly adding series to my reading folder based on reader reviews and interesting little snippets. Still waiting on some good scans of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure so I can finish that off.

To be honest I just randomly open a whole stack of links from latest releases on mangaupdates and see if any of the summaries interest me.

This one kinda grabbed me because it looks to be from an offshoot group of scanlators from 4chan's /a/ board. While that may sound like a recipe for disaster, the peope who do scanlations from there generally are into some good stuff like Histoire and Vinland Saga.

[Steins;Gate PSP port]

GOTY all years.

What do you think are the odds of XSEED or someone doing a digital-only translation for PSN? Then again, considering it's made megabucks for the original developer, I can see a licence fee being quite steep.

You'd have thought they'd have tried for the steam route. Then again, there's always been mutterings of disagreement regarding how much to charge and such like.

Saying that, there's a few doujin based games (shmups mainly) that are getting localised by small independants and put on steam so maybe one day. Although it's a long cry from having Fate/Stay Night or Saya no Uta up there/

Remind me, Steins;Gate is a 360-exclusive? I don't follow the visual novel scene. But still, there's probably *some* demand for a legit English version, and a PSN version of the PSP game strikes me as the most likely scenario at the moment. But then again, licencing.

Plus none of the medium-sized translation companies (XSEED, Rising Star, Aksys etc.) is involved with Steam (yet...)

Steins;Gate was a PC game, it was exclusive for the 360 last year but a PSP version followed quickly after. It's already up on PSN in Japan, but there's a fan translation of the PC/PSP game coming, they're working on it.

I've owned the PSP game since last year and I'm just in the process of seeing all the endings. I've played the game for 50 hours and I have 3 endings left to see, I have save files to see two of them but I need to skip through to see the true end. Fantastic game.
