I really don't like the look of Nine Elms at all. I very bland.

Shame about the Battersea Powerstation area. Yet another thing along with the Thames being turned into a sterile rich banker "community" shame they aren't turning the power station into something interesting, like they did with the Tate Modern.

I was stupidly excited about going but then they slapped an insane £30 each price tag when it was supposed to be free. I was going to go with my dad but that would mean 2 £40 train tickets and then the 2 shard tickets for 30 minutes on a viewing gallery which is more than double what I paid for an entire day at the palalympics with travel and food included.

Sod that.

Yeah that's why I'm not bothering to go up tbh. More expensive than cn tower, to rockerfeller centre and empire state. Ludicrous. Yet again another thing built in an old poor area, now completely out of reach for normal people.

I wish we'd start building skyscrapers that'll actually last a while. Towers of steel and glass will decay into nothing very quickly; where are our epoch's pyramids?

London's Walkie Talkie building is causing a few problems...

Here's The Jaguar That A New Building In London Literally Melted With Its Reflection

The big story today is about a new development in London's financial district dubbed The Walkie Talkie due to its unusual shape.



The combination of its shape (which is curved), its placement, and its height has apparently created a tremendously intense reflection and beam of light that creates extraordinary heat on a nearby block, and one Jaguar owner says his car literally suffered melting damage from having been parked in that spot.

The news was first broken by Jim Waterson at City AM.

Anyway, a photo of the car has been revealed by the BBC, which tweeted out a photo of a clearly warped Jaguar.

BBC reports:

In a joint statement, developers Land Securities and Canary Wharf said: "We are aware of concerns regarding the light reflecting from 20 Fenchurch Street and are looking into the matter.

"As a precautionary measure, the City of London has agreed to suspend three parking bays in the area which may be affected while we investigate the situation further."

Mr Lindsay said the developers had apologised and agreed to sort out the £946 repair costs.

Meanwhile, an Instagram user has found a great shot showing just how white hot the spot on the street seems to get.

Whoever would be in charge of such an endeavor should either coat the building's windows with transparent solar panel sheets (are they a thing yet?), or turn it into a giant solar collection plant with arrays of solar panels built atop buildings and on sturdy trellises over streets where the focused light hits. In this way, the people and things below are protected from harm, and energy is generated to power the buildings of the area, even lower local energy prices.

You would probably notice that your tires had fused with the pavement, the seat had partially melted and the handbar grips were dangling lumps of rubber.

Saudi Arabia to build world's tallest tower

Standing at over 1,000 meters (3,280 feet), the Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia is set to become the world's tallest tower, beating its closest rival Burj Khalifa in Dubai by nearly 600 feet.

According to CNN, the building is expected to cost £716 million ($1.2 billion)it will be constructed in Jeddah and the building will be situated along the coast of the Red Sea.



One feature will be a sky terrace on the 157th floor and when completed it will become the highest terrace in the world.



The building will be designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture and will require about 5.7 million square-feet of concrete, and 80,000 tons of steel, according to the Saudi Gazette.
