Hello,

Firstly, I should say. I don't expect to get a new phone but am asking anyway.

Am with O2.
My BlackBerry Bold 9700 developed a leaking LCD Screen I thought I somehow broke it (eventho it was in its case and i was sitting down all the time since I last used it)

I resolved to get and fix a replacement screen while googling i found that this has happened to a lot of other people.. (seemingly randomly having a damaged screen, without having dropped it or anything.. sometimes overnight) so is maybe a fault.

I have had the phone 20months. I don't expect to get a new phone as it seems like user damage and I don't have insurance.

Tho a friend of mine got a new Phone from Orange under similar circumstances..

is it worth giving it a go?

I do feel entitled to a new phone.. but from RIM not O2

RIM can, and probably will, tell you it's nothing to do with them. You need to go through O2, not RIM. Legally, any fault with the phone is O2's responsibility, it's actually nothing to do with the manufacturer. (And don't let them fob you off with any '12 month warranty' nonsense)

Why don't you ask O2 rather than us? They'll probably have a better idea.

Also most mobiles come with a 2 year warranty. My HTC does.
