So I picked up my TV remote from the floor on Sunday and it just didn't do anything. Put new batteries in it. Nothing again.

I do remember that where I picked it up from was where I dropped it to last time I used it, but it was only about half a metre onto carpet.

I should add that my TV is a 3 1/2 year old Sony KDL40V3000, one of the models that was recently 'recalled' by Sony. I haven't had it fixed. Should I get the Sony engineer out to fix the TV and blah a remote fix at the same time? :shifty:

If it helps just get a Logitech Harmony Remote? I brought one recently the 650 saw it on Hotdeals for about £35 and it's a real smart piece of kit, you can use it to control upto 5 devices including the xbox, Sky, Blu Ray players and so forth.

It just started working again last night. :fp:

My dad bought one of those Chameleon remotes a few years ago. It looked fantastic but made an annoying buzzing sound whenever it was activated and I found myself using the normal remotes in the end. Thanks for the response though.
