Yeah, the 300D is nearly a decade old now. A great camera in its time though.

Bit out of my price range at the moment though, even second hand.

A few of the shots taken with my 60D while away for new year. Excuse the horrible watermarking..lively hood/business blah blah and all that.

Taken on burst mode, ive got about 50 more of this at various points on the track.

That watermarking is horrific.

Would I be missing out on anything by getting this over a proper DSLR?

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/panasonic- ... 7-pdt.html

I've used it a fair bit at work (check Facebook to see some of the photos) and I really like the photos it takes.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong one

Hey Noes, we had a discussion about the pros/cons of Micro 4/3 based cameras like that Panasonic a few pages back:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1849&p=2310236#p2304735

Also, watch this for an overly-balanced look at comparisons of the two:

Bear in mind though, they're comparing a proper entry level DSLR with a higher end mirrorless.

GF-2, two lens kit for £352.

I don't know much about the G2 but if I was going 4/3s I'd still be more interested in better glass, and 4/3s glass is pretty expensive.

Canon were selling refurbed 1100Ds on eBay for £300. Would wait until some more pop up.

It largely depends on what your needs are. My main complaint about my DSLR is that it doesn't fit in my bag at all (got a lot of books in there) in which case a GF2 and 14mm pancake would be brilliant, but it's better for pretty much everything else. I just need to know when I'm going to want it, which obviously isn't ideal.

When I'm rich I'll get both.

Boy I'm so strawberry floating glad I have bought only official lenses for my Nikon. I know they're expensive as strawberry float, but the good lenses are all compatible with the higher end models anyway, and I can see myself upgrading to a higher end Nikon when I get a little less poor.

Which lenses do you own?

It's my birthday soon, family want to get me some camera gear. There's nothing I really need though, I have the Lenses I'll need covered, a bag, nice memory card, rarely need a flashgun, got a tripod for home use and a borrowed gorilla pod for on the move.

Anyone got any equipment they get use out of that perhaps isn't obvious as part of every photographer's bag? Got my D3100 last year, so would be nice to add some kit this year.
