FIFA Street has scored a second week on top of the UK all formats chart. It managed the feat despite a 44 per cent drop in sales.
EA now has nine all format number ones so far this year, across five different titles. This time last year the gargantuan publisher had managed five weeks at number one across four different titles.
Capcom's Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the first Resident Evil game developed outside of Japan, debuted in second place. 60 per cent of the sales were on Xbox 360, 40 per cent on PlayStation 3. When Resident Evil 5 launched three years ago, 55 per cent of sales were on Xbox 360 and 45 per cent were on PS3.
EA took the rest of the top five. Mass Effect 3 (down 55 per cent) fell one place to number three. FIFA 12 (plus eight per cent) remained steadfast in fourth. And SSX slipped two places to fifth off the back of a 31 per cent drop in sales.
Nintendo's new 3DS game Kid Icarus: Uprising entered the chart in seventh place. Bouyed by a 12 per cent increase in sales, Modern Warfare 3 is in sixth. Price promotions for Battlefield 3 (plus 31 per cent) and F1 2011 (plus 19 per cent) saw both games return to the top ten, in eighth and ninth place respectively. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games falls four places to tenth.
The only other two new entries in the UK all formats chart were Sega's Shogun 2: Total War - Fall of the Samurai, which entered in 17th place, and Tecmo Koei's action game Ninja Gaiden 3, which managed a disappointing 19th. Namco Bandai's Armored Core 5 and Nintendo's PokePark 2 failed to chart. (DB's note: PokePark 2 did manage to make it onto the individual unit charts: at a lowly #34)
