Jesus :fp: Super Mario Bros 2 actually laid out the foundations for the development of characters in the Mario universe. It was also a damn fine game. One of the best platformers I have played.

However, when it came to gameplay it was second-rate. It isn't in the same league as the other two games.

I haven't got the NES library too fresh in my mind at the moment, but when I think about it, Mario 2's one of those reliable games I can load up and always enjoy a playthrough of. More than anything, I love how odd and offbeat it is!

If I were held at gunpoint to take it from my list though, I'd happily consider replacing it with any of the following:

Adventures of Lolo
Batman
Castlevania III
Contra
Duck Tales
Little Nemo
Ninja Gaiden

Plus I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting...NES :wub:
